The Opportunity

As the Senior Manager, Account Development of Asia Pacific, you will lead a high performing team of Account Development Representatives that work cross functionally across field marketing, sales, channels and solution consulting. The account development mission is to identify new business opportunities in strategic accounts, by engaging with clients to increase awareness of new OpenText products and solutions across a diverse set of industries. Account development in OpenText is at the centre of the company’s success and critical in supporting the company’s future growth. The role requires a team manager who can lead the members to be goal oriented, self-driven, creative, persistent, energetic and positive.


The role spans across all OpenText solution areas which includes Enterprise Content Services, AI and Analytics, Customer Experience Management, Digital Process Automation, Business Network & LegalTech.


This role reports to the Global Director, Account Development and partners with Regional Marketing Directors and Regional Sales Vice Presidents and their teams.

This is a hybrid role based in Sydney, Australia.


You Are Great At

  • Taking ownership of a passionate account development team, coaching, mentoring the team, and exceed pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Partnering with field marketing, sales and solution consulting so ensure that sales pipeline always remains full of qualified opportunities which convert to revenue.
  • Manage employee productivity to ensure that the team achieves their daily goals and monthly/quarterly targets.
  • With a good grasp of technology, this role will lead management and execution of “sales plays” within account development to drive pro-active outbound leads.
  • Manage the marketing funnel and work the mid-end of the funnel to drive tangible sales qualified opportunities from marketing qualified leads.
  • Manage the account development process and look for continuous areas of improvement.
  • Report back to management and key stakeholders across sales and pre-sales on KPI’s.
  • A people leader, manage employee performance reviews and development plans.
  • Champion special projects around new initiatives.


What It Takes

  • Experienced people manager, strong in managing multi-cultural/diverse teams.
  • Leading an inside sales/account development/lead development team.
  • Sales play management which ties back into business strategy.
  • Funnel management to drive tangible sales qualified opportunities from marketing qualified leads.
  • Strong communication, writing, presentation & persuasive skills.
  • Good understanding of enterprise software.
  • Strong work ethic and lead by example.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • 10-15 years related experience/related degree.
