DevOps Engineer (Identity and Access Management)

OpenText is seeking a talented and motivated individual to assume the role of Software Engineer in the Identity and Access Management Engineering Department. We are looking for candidates with the right blend of skills, education, experience, and attitude to fill this exciting and challenging position. This is a great opportunity for the individual looking to get involved with cutting edge technology in the Cloud Computing, Identity, and Access business.

The successful candidate will have: experience as a system integrator working closely with software development, quality assurance, and information technology groups in the life cycle of cloud services; will work with minimal supervision and oversight in a distributed team; has a willingness to answer questions, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to focus on problem resolution until completion. This position will work with the development, testing, and product management teams to deploy a set of cloud services and virtual environments. Ideal candidates will have worked in an entrepreneurial environment and will be known for their ability to work effectively with other team members.



  • Integrate, deploy, and manage cloud services.
  • Analyze performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of cloud service.
  • Enter and track defects.
  • Interact with customers, vendors, partners, and development teams.
  • Researching customer issues and product initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related discipline or experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with virtualization using various hypervisors (e.g., VMWare, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with cloud provisioning and service orchestration tools (e.g, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of Linux administration.
  • Load balancing, clusters, building scalable systems.
  • Programming skills in scripting languages (e.g., python, bash).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and issue isolation skills.
  • Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal English).
  • Must be able to assume project responsibility and deliver on milestones.
  • Must be able to work as an individual contributor within a team.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and completely with minimal oversight from supervisor.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to “think outside the box”.
  • Possess a positive attitude.
  • Experience in SCRUM or other Agile development processes.

Preferred Skills

  • Programming skills in Java or other high-level language.
  • Knowledge in Identity and Security.
  • Federation technologies: SAML, WS-Fed, etc.
  • Knowledge of testing tools/frameworks: TestNG, Selenium, etc. 
  • Knowledge of system test performance paradigms.
  • Knowledge of databases.
