Principal Global Mobility Specialist

The EMEA Principal Global Mobility Specialist provides expertise in evaluation, planning, risk mitigation and execution of global mobility activities.  


Duties & Responsibilities include:


Subject Matter Expert
•    Work independently to deliver technically accurate and sound guidance and decision making to stakeholders on all aspects of European, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) global mobility related activities (immigration, tax, social security, posted worker requirements and relocation services), including those of a complex nature where initiative and creativity are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
•    Provide subject matter expertise and counseling to Business Leaders and HR Business Partners regarding domestic and international global mobility best practices and company policies which will successfully impact deliverables.  
•    Create, deliver and provide subject matter expertise on comprehensive multi-year cost estimates for potential global mobility activity (new hires, permanent transfers, temporary assignments, etc.) to aid in business case development. 
•    Ensure consistent interpretation and application of global mobility programs, policies & procedures and provide recommendations for non-standard situations.
•    Adhere and ensure compliance of Right to Work legislation in the UK and other EMEA countries as applicable. 
•    Provide guidance on global mobility activities (immigration, tax, relocation, etc.) as they relate to Merger & Acquisitions and creation of New OT Entities. 
•    Participate in the creation and delivery of ad hoc local and global mobility training sessions.  

Key Responsibilities
•    Develop and monitor immigration protocols for business visitors and employees to ensure compliance with immigration legislation in the EMEA region. 
•    Develop, communicate and provide guidance on individual immigration strategies and associated fees for new hires, transferees, short term business travelers and current employees, etc. inbound to the EMEA region.   
•    Develop, validate and monitor current and future immigration strategies & associated fees for individual employees with immigration activity in the EMEA region.  
•    Manage and track immigration related activities and expiry dates of short-term business travelers and employees inbound to the EMEA region.

•    Coordinate and monitor tax support activities in accordance with global mobility policies, procedures and practices.
•    Independently manage all relocation and assignment requests and activities within the EMEA region, including assignments of a complex nature.
•    Manage end to end process for relocations and assignments ensuring that overall program objectives are achieved
•    Facilitate extensions, localizations, repatriations, terminations, etc.  as it relates to relocations and assignments.
•    Advise on new rules that are applicable for British citizens travelling to the EU and EU nationals into the UK. 
•    Provide assessment to Business visitors after Brexit.
•    Responsible for global mobility vendor management (immigration, tax, social security and relocation) in EMEA.
•    Audit and process invoices for payment and provide reports as required and participate in local vendor sourcing or RFP’s as required.

Required Qualifications: 
•    Extensive experience overseeing corporate global immigration, tax and relocation programs in the EMEA region or an equivalent level.
•    Experience in managing resolution of complex global tax issues.
•    GMS Certification is a bonus.
•    Extensive knowledge of Brexit and possible impact on immigration, tax and relocation.
•    Experience in non-immigrant and immigrant visas and permanent applications.
•    In-depth understanding of immigration legislation and employment laws within EMEA countries.
•    Extensive knowledge of A1 Certificate/Posted Worker Requirements in all EMEA countries.
•    Excellent leadership skills, ideally management, coaching and training of stakeholders.
•    Experience in researching, analyzing, designing, delivering and effective administration of employee mobility, tax and immigration programs and initiatives, both domestic and international.  
•    Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and exercise independent judgement in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
