Senior Manager, Software Engineering

The OT2 Platform product development team is seeking a talented Senior Manager to work in partnership with Product Management and Architecture teams on evolving our cloud platform capabilities, streamlining end to end processes required to accelerate development, deployment of new features to the Platform. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of Engineering team to ensure technical quality, product quality, and efficient use of resources. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and within agreed upon quality standards. Work closesly with cross-functional teams within OpenText and partner with key stakeholders.This is a tremendous opportunity to get in and shape the direction of the next generation Information Management platform that enables development of Applications by internal as well as external developers.


You are great at:


  • Delivering highly scalable, performant and secure cloud propositions – ideally Platform as a Service propositions or Software as a Service Applications
  • Partnering with Product Management, Architecture, Operations, other delivery teams and Release Management to ensure effective launch and delivery of Services to satisfy business needs
  • Deep experience in AGILE/Lean development methodologies, Improving Cloud Services / Application development, deployment and operational delivery processes leveraging DevOps and SRE practices
  • Delivering assigned projects to time, budget and agreed quality standards
  • Leading teams to ensure delivery success, help teams achieve sprint/release goals, ensure Team development and career progression
  • Facilitate planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives, provide guidance, technical feedback and ensure release goal is achieved
  •  Work with cross-functional teams to ensure plans & resources are coordinated, and product deliverables are well defined, scoped and achieved
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction during project delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, internal and external
  •  Provide visibility to team impediments/risks and helps eliminate them, Ensure appropriate and timely reporting
  • Provide guidance, technical feedback and ensure product delivery success
  •  Help the team to be innovative and improve things
  •  Be part of organization-wide initiatives and drive the change


What it takes:


  • Minimum MS CS or equivalent experience
  • Extensive industry engineering experience in a management or project management position
  • Experience with SaaS/PaaS Cloud Development, low code and pro code software capability is preferred
  • Previous experience in design and development of JAVA based Applications and API first approach software development  
  • Agile project management training and experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent communication and people skill required.
  • Ability to organize, plan and create a team environment that will lead into a team motivated to deliver.
  • Effective facilitation skills for participatory decision making.
