The Opportunity
As the OpenText Lead Cloud Systems Engineer, you will strive to automate and implement scalable processes and monitoring of our systems and environments to ensure the high availability of our services. Leverage your technical skills and passion for DevOps to strengthen our ability to deploy and maintain high-performing and scalable systems.
You are great at
• Deploy system automation technologies to streamline development, testing, and operational activities.
• Experience with infrastructure configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
• Experience with Monitoring systems such as Zabbix, New Relic, and Microfocus OMI.
• Experience with common scripting languages (Perl, python, shell, ruby, etc.)
• Working closely with engineering and operations teams across the organization to determine and incorporate their requirements into a robust, flexible, scalable platform in a continuous delivery model.
• Research, design, and build tools and systems to improve time to market.
• Research and provide feedback on new technologies to satisfy business and technical requirements.
What it takes
• BS/MS in CS/engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in a highly-complex technical operations environment; directly working with monitoring and automation tools.
• Experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, Packer, Artifactory, Docker) and Git.
• Solid knowledge of administering, deploying, and managing Red Hat, Solaris, and Windows.
• Solid knowledge of VMware & vSphere Administration and scripting.
• Expertise in C++ and Java on Solaris and Red Hat platforms.
