Lead Revenue Recognition Analyst

YOUR IMPACT
As a Lead Revenue Recognition Analyst at OpenText, you will be instrumental in ensuring global cloud revenue recognition activities align with ASC 606 compliance and meet all internal and external reporting commitments. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Billing Operations, Sales, and Deal Desk, driving consistent application of revenue recognition policies. Your expertise will help shape critical financial outcomes and contribute to process improvements, delivering accurate and timely revenue reporting.  

 

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
• Review contracts and ensure revenue is recognized in compliance with ASC 606 standards.  
• Calculate Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue on professional services engagements to ensure compliance and accuracy.  
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities, focusing on timely revenue recognition.  
• Prepare journal entries, including SSP allocations, ensuring adherence to company policies.  
• Maintain deferred revenue schedules for assigned entities to ensure accurate financial reporting.  
• Collaborate with Billing Operations and Finance to research and resolve any revenue fluctuations.  
• Prepare GL account reconciliations and support SOX testing, ensuring compliance.  
• Manage internal and external audit requirements, preparing materials and responding to inquiries as needed.  
• Engage in ad-hoc projects, conducting analysis to answer business questions and drive improvements in revenue recognition processes.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.  
• 3-5 years of experience in finance and/or accounting, with a focus on Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) preferred.  
• Experience in the technology, software, or cloud sectors is an asset.  
• Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.  
• Experience working with SAP and Salesforce (SFDC) is a plus.  
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a team-player mentality.  
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.  
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to follow-through.
