Senior Software Developer

The Opportunity: 

OpenText’s Digital Experience division is an elite software development organization building the next generation Experience Cloud.  Experience Cloud combines the best-of-breed products to deliver a personalized and contextualized experience across the entire customer journey utilizing AI techniques and analytics.       


We are looking for talented, experienced software developers to join the OpenText Experience Cloud product development organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop our next-generation cloud by innovating on new ideas and methods. You will be part of a cross-product team designing, developing, and delivering products in both SaaS, private cloud, and on-premise environments.  In this role, you will work closely with Product Management, QA, and cloud operations as well as other R&D teams. You will mentor junior members of the team as well as collaborate with other development groups within OpenText on best practices and techniques.  If you have a passion for technology and delivering impactful software, you could be a good fit.

You are great at: 


  • Being passionate about software development at all levels: architecture, design, implementation, test, and deployment.
  • Developing front-end applications utilizing a React framework or backend microservices in Java.  Experience in both is a huge plus.
  • Comfortable with SQL on multiple RDBMS platforms including cloud
  • Significant experience with Dockerfiles and building containers
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cluster configurations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Communication both written and oral as well as communicating with software developers and product managers globally.
  • Delivering high-quality software that is scalable, high-performing, and secure.
  • Decomposing work into tasks that can be completed in days rather than weeks or months as a part of Scrum’s framework.


What it takes: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, information systems, or related fields and 5 years of experience developing enterprise-class solutions.
  • Full-stack development using Java and UX frameworks such as React in a microservices-based architecture.
  • Minimum of 5 years working with Java.
  • Practical experience creating and using RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
  • Proven history of building enterprise software with a focus on performance, scaling, high availability, and security




  • Practical Experience building, deploying, and debugging Docker images in a Kubernetes environment within Google, AWS, and/or Azure is a plus
  • Linux shell scripting is a plus.
