The Opportunity
The role of the Lead Developer is to effectively analyze requirements, and create quality software in a timely and accurate manner, for simple to complex functionalities in one or more concurrent projects. The primary function is to identify requirements with the Product Management team to build features that help product development teams and customers. OpenText is looking for this expert to help us design and implement platform-wide features. You will be responsible for strategic plans focused on growth initiatives, driving towards helping the customer realize their potential of existing business and helping them grow in new business opportunities within the OpenText cloud. Your work will involve cross-functional collaboration between Cloud Production Support, Professional Services, and Product Management to craft and design solutions that can be made commercially available to customers.
You Are Great At
- Working within a scrum team and contributing to all software development activities across the entire life cycle of the product including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Leading teams as necessary for implementing tools and ideas aligning with the broader vision of the product.
- Troubleshooting and solving complex technical issues by leveraging your superior analytical skills
- Envisioning, communicating, and evolving the architecture of the product.
- Work with other enterprise architects to implement best practises.
- Collaborate with different scrum teams and product managers to implement the architectural vision of the product.
- Working with Project Managers in understanding their pain points to convert them into technical requirements.
- Create tools and processes to reduce the pain points of Product Development, Product Management, Professional Services and Project Management teams to help Customers.
- Work with QA team in automating the processes wherever necessary.
- Inform the stakeholders of any risks or issues that may affect the schedule and quality of the application.
- Understand and adhere to Agile processes.
- To work in collaboration with teams across geographies.
- Perform non-functional tests such as basic automation, security testing, and performance tests as needed.
- Recommend and implement suggestions or process improvements.
- Provide production support as needed.
What It Takes:
- Should have 8 to 10 years of enterprise product development and architecture experience.
- Should have strong hands-on experience in Java technologies.
- Should have very good problem-solving, analytical, design and coding skills.
- Should have strong experience in helping build enterprise architecture.
- Experience in working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in building and consuming webservices (using RESTful APIs).
- Knowledge of XML.
- Experience with SQL, Databases, data modeling.
- Experience building micro services.
- Strong interest, and the ability to, learn other coding languages, databases, platforms, and tools as needed.
- Exposure to EDI is a nice-to-have.
