The Opportunity

 

OpenText’s EnCase is the most widely deployed Forensic and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) platform in the world.  Law enforcement organizations, government agencies, and corporate enterprises have trusted EnCase to detect and remediate security breaches, collect and analyze digital evidence, and perform eDiscovery. 

The Principal QA Engineer is a hands-on technical leader on a team of 3-6 QA engineers and Quality Owners, working across EnCase products to build validation frameworks and technologies. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with strong experience in test automation for desktop and web applications, quality measurement, and Agile methodologies. This leader will be responsible for strategic planning of QA processes and validation coverage, will work with test engineers to establish QA standards and working technology that assure successful product releases.

 

You Are Great At

  • Building test automation at scale that increases test coverage while also compressing testing time
  • Creating a repeatable and measurable process for product validation
  • Collecting and using key metrics to identify gaps and develop mitigation strategies
  • Acting as a technical leader to develop solutions, drive successful delivery, and influence adoption

 

The Role

  • Drive quality capabilities for EnCase products to the next level of maturity by using technology, process adoption, and effective measurement.
  • Design and implement the environment and procedures for benchmarking EnCase system performance and capacity, simulating 10s of thousands of endpoints.
  • Standardize the technology and framework for test automation to increase coverage and decrease testing time and collaborate with product engineering teams on adoption.
  • Establish policies and practices for product security validation, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and Scrum Master to align on workloads, client commitments, and product vision
  • Utilize agile development methodology to successfully lead the team to meet milestones and timelines

 

What it takes

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  •  7+ years in software quality assurance, preferably in a leadership role
  • Proven experience validating products on Windows systems both remote and on-premises.
  • In-depth knowledge of test automation tools (such as Selenium, FitNesse)
  • Solid understanding of continuous integration (CI) and automated pipelines
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (Python, PowerShell, Java)
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities and capacity to take on difficult technical issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to get things done by being resourceful, building rapport, and seizing opportunities

 

Desired Skills

  • Experience and/or certifications on cyber security products
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner
  • Development tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins
  • Validating products on non-windows environments (Linux, MacOS, Solaris, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Web/SaaS environments, Java, C++/C#, and network topology
