Summary

This position presents the opportunity to shape the future of the entire OpenText Digital Experience and Content Management portfolio.  Successful candidates will be responsible for continued development and innovation in the product lines. We are looking for a candidate who brings strong problem solving skills with a combination of solid enterprise-class software development experience in Java and the Web2.0 technology stack. This person will work as a key member of an engineering team and be involved in all aspects of designing, developing and supporting web based software products. The position will require close collaboration with Product Management, Quality Assurance and Support/Services teams, during all phases of the software development lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement software solutions for the Digital Marketing/Web Content Management domain.
  • Review and understand functional requirements to be able to conceive and present application designs and prototypes.
  • Document and publish technical requirements, design and functional specifications for use by internal teams.
  • Evaluate existing functionality and propose and implement improvements and extensions as required by the overall architecture of the product.
  • Participate in the evaluation and resolution of defect ticket reports for new as well as legacy components
  • Contribute to the team’s software development lifecycle improvement initiatives by utilizing standard practices as well proposing areas of improvement – design, planning, implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Manage feature development from concept to release and communicate with management and development teams regarding status, progress, and projected delivery

 

Job Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience, MS desired
  • 6+ years of software development experience with Java and JSP/Servlet technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing web applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS and JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, Angular, and React
  • Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot
  • Strong grasp of object-oriented design and implementation
  • Experience with Java application servers - Tomcat/JBoss/Wildfly
  • Must have development experience with a focus on unit testing
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Mandatory Hands-on experience on container and orchestration services (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Experience building cloud native applications from scratch.
  • Must be proficient on Windows and Linux.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A pro-active self-starter, Customer focused, excellent teammate and works well with others and in collaborative team-oriented environment
     

 

Relevant Background:
