The Opportunity
This is a 9 monh contract postion.
The transfer pricing team at OpenText is looking for a self-driven individual to meet the demands of a fast-paced, data-driven environment. Working within the broad OpenText global tax group, the transfer pricing department is charged with the responsibility to create value by reviewing current business structures on an ongoing basis to ensure that the transfer pricing policies are consistent with the arm’s length principle. The analyst will have a global role in managing the transfer pricing matters within OpenText in accordance with the OECD Guidelines and local country requirements.
What you will do
The Analyst will join a highly technical global tax and transfer pricing function to create value and take proactive approaches to assess the impact of transfer pricing policies to the business model, management or new acquisitions. This includes challenging current processes to ensure they are efficient and effective. You will also review information obtained as part of day-to-day business activities and consider the impact of this data to the transfer pricing policies.
The Analyst will be charged with the responsibility to create value by:
- Managing the preparation of transfer pricing documentation in accordance with the OECD Guidelines and local jurisdictional requirements to minimize the company’s exposure to significant transfer pricing adjustments or penalties.
- Reviewing current business structure on an ongoing basis to ensure that the transfer pricing policies are consistent with the arm’s length principle.
- Engaging with OpenText’s external advisors on local documentation matters.
- Collaborating with the Managers, Transfer Pricing Operations to ensure that the quarterly transfer pricing calculations are consistent with the transfer pricing documentation and other supporting information.
- Supporting transfer pricing managers and directors with transfer pricing audits globally.
- Working with the Regional Tax Directors, Controllers and their teams with respect to the above matters
What it takes
- Recent graduate with a University Degree (preference for finance/accounting/business focus)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite
- Prior experience with SAP and/or similar finance systems is desired
- Comfortable with applying accounting principles
- Detail-oriented, team player, curious, and self-driven
- A problem solver who is comfortable building cross-functional relationships
- A proactive, can-do, work ethic
- Those pursuing a CPA designation (or equivalent) may be given preference
- Preference will be given to applicants with relevant internship experience in a public accounting firm or in industry
