Lead Scan Operator/Document Handler - 1st Shift

The Opportunity:
OpenText Document Capture Services (DCS) offers document scanning and metadata indexing for paper documents, large format drawings, and microfilm/microfiche to a broad customer base.  DCS is searching for a dynamic and resourceful individual to join our team as a Document Imaging Team Leader. This role works closely with other DCS production team members in the delivery of customer projects. Document Imaging Team Leaders are responsible for helping to ensure that each shift meets published production quotas by leading team training and performing quality control measures on the work. In addition, Team Leaders participate in each step of the production process.

Work is performed at our DCS office in San Antonio, TX. This role is for the first shift, hours of 5 am - 1 pm, Monday – Friday. 

Due to the confidential nature of our business, cell phones and electronic devices are not allowed on the production floor during work hours.  This policy is strictly enforced.

 

What you'll be doing:
•Writing customer specifications for each new project that will guide team members during each step of the production process
•Prepping and scanning content, on high-speed scanners, according to customer specifications 
•Verifying image quality and readability
•Addressing and correcting image quality issues as needed
•Data entry and review of multiple metadata fields
•Exporting images and associated metadata fields to a customer
•Training new hires on the DCS production processes and projects
•Acting as a back up to DCS Supervisors when conditions arise
•Keeping accurate records of content that is being processed
•Performing basic scanner maintenance
•Reaching established quota targets for projects
•Other duties as assigned by incumbent’s Supervisor

 

You are great at:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Reading, writing, and math skills to follow written instructions and to maintain records
•Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
•Comfortable interacting and leading diverse work teams
•Communicate effectively through strong speaking, listening and writing skills 
•Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity 
•Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds, continuous requirement throughout the shift
•Work in a structured, fast-paced, production-mailroom environment without compromising quality
•Maintain a strong level of performance with minimal supervision
•Prioritization and time management skills
