Production Supervisor - 2nd shift

The Opportunity:
As a Production Supervisor, you will work closely with the Project Manager and other IT and PS Consultants to support and deliver OpenText Document Capture Services (DCS) engagements. 

Activities of this position include: supervising production staff; generating production reports; ensuring staff meets established production metrics; payroll; providing motivation and support to production staff; troubleshooting scanning hardware and software issues; communicating any problems, issues, or obstacles to senior management; establish workflow policies; creating work schedules; meeting internal standards and best practices for consistency; high-quality project delivery. 

 

Please note this is an office based role with shift timing from 2pm - 10 pm. 

 

What you will be doing: 
•    Supervising a production staff of 40+ employees and subcontractors. 
o    Increase employee motivation by providing support and guidance. o    Communicate updates or changes 
o    Oversee new hire training.
•    Manage and evaluate staff to ensure established production metrics are met and exceeded.
•    Manage and evaluate hardware resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.
•    Generate, review, and post production reports on a daily basis.
•    Submit weekly payroll.
•    Establish workflow policies that increase productivity and efficiency.
•    Evaluate work schedules to ensure optimum staffing levels.
•    Reviewing customer Statement of Work to ensure all requirements are met.
o    Create high-quality documentation instructions for prep, scan, quality assurance, and indexing.
o    Establish production metrics for all tasks. 
•    Communicate and document questions or issues with customer.
•    Meet and exceed customer deadlines.
•    Enforce all established company policies and procedures.  
•    Provide and monitor staff coaching’s.
•    Work directly with the IT department to create and follow workflow processes.
•    Track customer projects and review them prior to sending them to the IT department for export.
•    Troubleshoot scanning hardware and software issues.
•    Communicate issues to senior management.
•    May meet with customers occasionally at the request of upper management.  
•    Participates in multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Provides functional expertise to troubleshoot and resolve escalated or troubled projects.
•    Self-motivated, delivering projects in both a team environment, as well as working independently.
•    Working supervisor, production duties. 
•    Has excellent communication skills.

 

Technical Skills Requirements:
•    Proficient with current versions of Microsoft products required.
•    Proficient with computer and network hardware and connectivity.

•    Familiarity with document scanning and associated hardware including high speed scanners.
•    Familiarity with OpenText Captiva product or other document capture software. 

 

You are great at: 
•    Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in the production environment.
•    Candidate must be proficient in conversing, reading and writing in English.  

•    Ability to interact with business resources and respond confidently to business and product usage questions.
•    Ability to interact with departmental resources and respond confidently to questions.
•    A strong presence, leadership depth and breadth, and presentation skills are a must.
•    Ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral format.
•    Excellent project delivery practices.
•    Ability to work as part of a dynamic team or individually as needed.
