The Opportunity:
OpenText Document Capture Services (DCS) offers document scanning and metadata indexing for paper documents, large format drawings, and microfilm/microfiche to a broad customer base.  DCS is searching for a resourceful individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist. The role works closely with other DCS production team members in the execution of customer document imaging projects by receiving incoming shipments, conducting inventory operations, and performing/coordinating bulk document delivery. 

 

Work is performed at our DCS office in San Antonio, TX; 7 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday. 

 

Due to the confidential nature of our business, cell phones and electronic devices are not allowed on the production floor during work hours.  This policy is strictly enforced.

 

Representative Responsibilities:
•    Receive and sort incoming mail from UPS, USPS, and FedEx 
•    Coordinate direct pick up from Customer sites and return delivery of boxed content
•    Loading and unloading boxes of documents at various locations 
•    Maintain inhouse inventory utilizing a proprietary box control system
•    Keep the internal storage area safe, clean, and in an orderly condition according to Environmental Health & Safety and OSHA requirements
•    Identify and prepare boxes of documents for onsite shredding
•    Operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment, as needed
•    Assist production staff with accessing stored boxes, when needed
Perform production document imaging activities when shipping and receiving volumes are low. Document imaging training will be provided

 

What it takes:
•    HS Diploma or equivalent
•    Computer skills are required to use inventory software 
•    Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 
•    Ability to travel to various locations and long-distance driving when required (estimated at 300 miles) and overnight stays, when necessary
•    Ability to safely drive a 26’ delivery truck in a variety of weather and traffic conditions 
•    Ability to lift 50 pounds, stack/unstack and carry boxes, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time, and perform repetitive motions
•    Respectful speaking and writing skills 
•    Consistently pay a high level of attention to detail
•    Work in a structured, fast-paced, production-mailroom environment without compromising quality
•    Maintain a strong level of performance with minimal supervision
•    Prioritization and time management skills
