As a leader in our global User Experience team, you will drive a solutions-based approach to software design while keeping in mind holistic user-centered design principles. We are looking for a Manager, UX Design to join our growing team to enhance the user experience for our business segment. Working with the product management team and collaborating with members of marketing, customer support, sales and engineering will bring our company-wide focus on improved user experience to the forefront. The successful candidate will have a great track record of people management, leadership, productivity, creativity, independent problem-solving, and on-time delivery of finished work. This will require strong collaboration and negotiation skills to define and advocate for user-focused solutions against technical constraints. We are looking for someone with a strong background in UX research and analytics who has the knowledge and skills to make informed user-centric decisions, as well as technical capabilities as a designer and a manager. We have a distributed team, so we require great organization, communication and collaboration skills.


Specific Objectives and Responsibilities


Your First Six Months:

  • Advance the active development of an integrated business console for security and data protection
  • Lead a team of designers to evaluate, prioritize and execute project work
  • Participate in the research and discovery process for new business products and features
  • Perform design reviews, oversee our design system, and verify UX outcomes match expectations
  • Share the UX progress and plans with the broader product team and communicate successes


Six to Twelve Months and Beyond:

  • Advocate for a clear UX vision for multiple business products
  • Guide the team to improve the customer success and satisfaction through better user experiences
  • Support continued product integrations as we expand our business offerings with our valued partners
  • Define UX best practices in support of a growing and distributed team
  • Collaborate with the product team to identify new areas of integration between security and data protection


Key Challenges to Overcome

The successful candidate will lead UX Designers and collaborate with development teams based in the US, Canada and the UK. This is a great opportunity for a design leader who can tackle demanding roadmaps, complex workflows and is able to take leadership of varied projects. This individual will need to be high functioning, communicative and motivated in a distributed work environment. They will drive high-visibility products and will be an essential leader of our business UX team.

  • Highly autonomous and able to independently identify high value projects and drive them to completion
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in cross-functional team environments
  • Comfortable in a dynamic context-switching setting
  • High degree of comfort with complex technical environments
  • Having and being able to articulate/defend an informed opinion on important topics
  • Ability to bring teams together to solve problems and gain buy in from product management and development leaders


Skills & Experience:

  • 4-year university or advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Cognitive Science, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in User Experience Design/Product Design
  • 3+ years managing a UX Design team
  • Portfolio of recent work available online
  • Experience designing outstanding digital products for B2B environments
  • Proven track record of UI / UX delivery
  • Demonstrated UX leadership capabilities that are shown through effective communication to build trust and evangelize a user-centered design approach
  • Independent worker with ability to align well with the product and development teams
  • Ability to thoroughly structure and document work to support increased collaboration
  • Advocate for improved user-centered design, information organization, and human-computer interaction
  • Strong working knowledge of common design tools such as the Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Axure, Figma, Sketch, etc.
  • Ability to perform and moderate various usability testing sessions and studies
  • Analytical capabilities in compiling and reviewing feedback and data culled from research and internal sources
  • Skilled at rapid prototyping, developing product wireframes and mockups
  • Attributes: Clear communicator, highly productive, independent, motivated, diligent, creative, passionate, and detail-oriented
