Sr. Investor Relations Analyst - Competitive Intelligence

The Opportunity:

 

We are seeking an individual with experience in analyzing and conducting financial benchmarking and strategic analysis on publicly traded companies, preferably in the software or technology industries. This person must have a strong financial background and be able to evaluate and assess the corporate and market strategies of a company.

 

We are looking for a team player with strong communication and written skills. This individual will be an integral part of the Investor Relations department and contribute to competitive research and analysis that is read by OpenText’s executive team. The role will also provide broader IR team support, including providing analysis for various strategic projects and initiatives.

 

You Are Great At:

 

  • Provide written summaries on the earnings results of peer companies. Review peer disclosures including but not limited to, earnings releases, transcripts, investor presentations, supplemental data, and regulatory and financial filings
  • Maintain a database of peer companies focusing on key stats, financials, attributes, SWOT analysis, etc.
  • Monitor peers’ key events and announcements and report relevant updates to the IR team
  • Conduct ad hoc financial benchmarking and/or other non-financial peer-related analysis
  • Monitor, analyze, and report broader trends in the software industry, macro-economic data and indicators, and other relevant business news and commentary
  • Reporting to the Senior Director of Investor Relations, this individual will be an integral part of the Investor Relations department and contribute to competitive research and analysis that is read by OpenText’s executive team.

 

What It Takes:

 

  • University degree or College diploma
  • 2+ years corporate experience in Competitive Intelligence, Capital Markets, Investor Relations, or Industry Analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, flexible and detail-oriented
  • Motivated team player who can work independently
  • Deadline driven, ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge in market data platforms such as Bloomberg, Factset, S&P Capital IQ, NASDAQ IR Insight, etc. is an asset
  • Knowledge or experience with data analytics, Excel macros, or software programming language would be preferred

 

For Colorado residents, this job is expected to pay in the range of $82,000 to $124,000 in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan.  Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
