Cloud Applications Engineer

The Applications engineering team is looking for an engineer who has solid knowledges and experiences. 
The position will be responsible for setting up and managing various applications services to support OpenText services on cloud. 
We need a passionate individual who can scale across roles and is flexible to work with a diverse team.

Job responsibilities:
Provide technical support, administration, and monitoring of Linux systems within a cloud environment and on physical servers.
Provide support for the installing, deploying, troubleshooting and maintenance of various applications.
Deploy system automation technologies to streamline development, testing and operational activities 
Contribute to a library of provisioning and management scripts, and help manage extensive monitoring and alerts.
Optimizing applications by integrating new technologies and performing upgrades.
Keeping up with advancements in application engineering and new technologies.
Support customer requirements in a 24/7/365 mission environment and be able to provide on-call support during outages occurring after hours.
Collaborates well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily shares information 
Produce technical design documentation for the operations team 

Desired Skills & Experience:
Solid knowledge of Linux networking, CPU, memory and filesystem.
Experience with administering in customer-facing, high-availability, large scale environments.
Experience with Scripting/Automation through Linux Shell scripts, python or other scripting languages. 
Experience with log reviews, incident analysis and problem-solving skills.
Experience with one or more of the following tools: terraform\ansible\git\Jenkins;
Knowledge and experience of cloud services and the cloud ecosystem, such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba Cloud. (good to have)
Experience in Nginx, Apache, Tomcat, Load balancer and SSL certificates. (good to have)
Ability to learn and evaluate new technology. 
 

Education/Experience:
1+ years experiences as an applications engineer.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar.
