Lead Consultant - xECM


This position is a blend of billable and presales activities, as determined by the needs of the ECM business. The ECM consultant will deliver professional services related to ECM architectures as described in Statements of Work/Letters of Engagement.  They will serve as a subject matter expert in ECM architecture, leading and/or contributing to presales efforts, including scoping, determining estimates for activities and writing Statements of Work/Letters of Engagement/Rough Orders of Magnitude. Working with an outstanding team of consultants and subject matter experts, the OpenText ECM Consultant must be a professional who has an interest in how business processes work and interact with technology in order to deliver world-class Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions that enable clients to become highly effective businesses.


Job Description

  1. Conceptualize, design and implement enterprise wide system architectures for ECM deployments, lead architecture sizing and scaling activities, as well as install and configure the solution.
  2. Serves as a leading authority on architecting the proper enterprise architecture to sustain large volumes of content from multiple sources, such as SAP data, email, documents, and images. 
  3. Understands Customer requirements and advises Customer on solution options. 
  4. Applies expertise and mentoring to Customer during the installation and configuration of the software.  Applies expert business skills and consulting methodologies to collect and analyze data.
  5. Displays a broad knowledge of all service offerings within Open Text, working with other team members to grow and extend knowledge as the product offering extends in features and settings.
  6. Has acted as a team lead on multiple projects longer than 6 months
  7. Is capable of working alone on a project or as part of a partner blended team as demonstrated by doing so on a project for at least one month
  8. Ensure the appropriate level of quality is applied throughout the project.
  9. Demonstrates strong customer facing skills by building and maintaining positive customer relationships and translating them into long term benefits for the company
  10. Identifies potential future project opportunities while working on projects and presents those opportunities to the MPs for investigation
  11. Consultant must be willing travel within the Asia region



  1. The candidate should have 8+ years of professional experience in installing, configuring & deploying medium to complex ECM software application components
  2. Profound operating system know-how for the platforms supported by Open Text ECM – Archive Server (Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Linux)
  3. Profound data base know-how (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server DBA level knowledge)
  4. Experience in Hardware sizing in production environments for various applications is required.
  5. Experience in Installation, Configuration and Administration of the SAP Solution Extension by OpenText is a plus
  6. Candidates with implementation experience of similar Enterprise Content Management solution such as IBM FileNet, Documentum, HP TRIM, Hyland OnBase, LaserFiche, etc. are encouraged to apply.
  7. Implementation experience with Capture (OCR) Related technology such as Kofax, Readsoft, Captiva, etc. is highly desirable.
  8. Demonstrated experience in a consulting environment combined with excellent spoken and written English.
  9. Ability to work with management and functional level users to analyze requirements, design and deliver solutions to meet those requirements.
  10. High degree of motivation and energy, ability to work independently and in high-performance teams and groups to achieve client objectives
  11. It would be good if a candidate has 3+ years of professional experience in deploying ECM & SAP Ecosystem Solutions
  12. Strong analytical, technical and problem solving skills including the ability to break down complex issues.
  13. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, manage own work activities, meet deadlines and develop project status and time reporting
  14. Working experience on Java Scripts, Web Services, SOAP, HTML5, XML, etc. is highly desirable.
  15. Hands on experience working on Operating Systems, Web Servers and Application servers is required.
  16. Understanding on RDBMS technologies such as MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc. is required


       Working experience with directory services such as Microsoft Active Directory is advantageous


  1. Good Understanding & Experience in the following is advantageous:
    1. SAP FI/CO module know-how
    2. SAP Workflow: Design & Implementation
    3. ABAP OO programming skills
    4. SAP SRM expertise
    5. SAP imaging expertise
