Lead Solutions Consultant (Singapore or Malaysia)

The Solutions Consultant is a core member of the OpenText sales team, working together to identify and develop revenue opportunities within the OpenText & SAP Customer and Prospect base. This will involve analysing complex customer requirements and providing a compelling, unique value proposition to the customer, which leverages one or more solutions from the OpenText EIM suite for SAP.


The Solutions Consultant is also responsible for helping the customer visualize the value proposition showcasing OpenText products and solutions via demonstrations, and delivering technology and business level presentations to technical, business and management-level audiences.


Working closely with the local and regional teams of Account Executives, Solutions Consultants, Professional Services Consultants, and strategic OpenText Partners, and alongside the SAP sales team, you will be accountable for the analysis of the functional and technical solution of complex, multi-departmental EIM customer requirements, mapping these requirements upon the whole OpenText EIM product and solution portfolio for SAP.


Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Work on Southeast Asia accounts primarily, and other APAC regions as required by the company.
  • Enable the Account Executives for success, by managing discovery, solution design, technical and architectural needs within the accounts, including responding to RFI, RFP, RFQ, etc.
  • Analyse complex customer EIM requirements; pro-actively work with customers and SAP to identify business pains across departments which can be mapped together into an EIM solution bringing tangible business value to the customer.
  • Manage the initial scoping and design of the solution, working together with SAP Sales & Presales teams, OpenText Global Professional Services, and the Partner community, to achieve this.
  • Architect customer EIM solutions based on OpenText solutions for SAP and OpenText Partner products and solutions – often embedded in complex customer IT environments and strategies.
  • Work with a "virtual" technical pre-sales account team including members of Solution Consultancy, Global Professional Services and OpenText Partners to obtain the "technical win".
  • Interact with Sales, Global Professional Services and OpenText Partners to create and finalize Solution offerings and initial Project delivery plans.
  • Present high-level strategy and clearly communicate our value proposition to customer’s CEO, CFO, and other senior level executives.
  • Identify major pain points within the enterprise and present back strategies to the customer which addresses the issues specifically.
  • Has superior knowledge around our competitor’s capabilities and uses solution selling techniques to communicate our solution’s business value.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Product Management teams to ensure these complex and often highly customised solutions benefit both the customer, SAP and OpenText.
  • Act as a thought leader to both our customers, SAP and across the OpenText organisation.
  • Work proactively with the OpenText AE, SAP Sales team and Partner community as appropriate, to develop EIM value propositions for individual customers and particular sectors.


Desired Capabilities:

  • Skills and experience in OpenText Solutions for SAP, including:
    • Archiving & Document Access for SAP
    • Document Presentment for SAP
    • Extended ECM for SAP
    • Extended ECM for SAP SuccessFactors
    • Information Capture for SAP
    • Vendor Invoice Management for SAP
    • and other solutions developed for SAP
  • Basic knowledge on SAP ABAP is desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of the core Enterprise Information Management product lines, on top of the OpenText Solutions for SAP
  • Understanding and ability to articulate how the complete OpenText solution lines work together to provide business value within an EIM suite context.
  •   Does whatever is necessary to keep knowledge and skills current in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Communicates complex concepts and issues effectively, selecting language, tone, and format perfectly targeted to the audience.
  • Expertly makes compelling presentations to sophisticated or difficult audiences.
  • Is highly effective in communicating with industry executives, using their time to maximum advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills; capable of effectively balancing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent English language skills, written and oral. Other languages including Mandarin & Thai are desirable.
  • Experience working with / exposure to OpenText for SAP solutions.


Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in positioning OpenText Solutions for SAP, as listed above.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in business and/or software sales environment, ideally in a presales capacity in a solution selling/value based selling environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in SAP solutions, including SAP ERP (S/4 HANA, ECC), SAP HCM (SuccessFactors), etc., with exposure to specific SAP modules (e.g., Finance, Materials Management, Sales & Distribution, Employee Central, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills coupled with strong presentation skills and the ability to influence.
  • Excellent solution selling and value based selling approach.
  • Knowledge of software industry relating to all aspects of EIM solutions for SAP.
  • Ability to travel as and when required.
