The Opportunity
The Senior Technical Support Specialist provides a proactive Support services, designed to improve customer IT operational health in assigned accounts as part of the TechConnect Support Program. TechConnect Technical Lead contributes to customer success in IT operations, and hence extracting greater value of OpenText products, increasing customer satisfaction, reducing support cost and forward planning.

 

This position requires a technical candidate, with a strong development/consulting/support background and proven customer-facing, and relationship management skills. This individual will be the point-of-contact for delivery of pro-active services, best practice advice and guidance, and being the customer’s technical advocate within OpenText. They will also coordinate with the Account Management, support, consulting, and engineering teams in OpenText, to ensure technical queries are addressed, in a timely manner, to meet the customer’s project timelines and requirements. As well needs a deep understanding of the products, and technologies involved, to help assigned accounts avoid issues, mitigate risks and manage changes.

 

What You Are Great At

•    Deliver pro-active and preventative deliverables and best practices
•    Advise customers of upcoming releases and possible impact, and guide through complex environment changes on customer side.
•    Conduct and lead regular touch point calls to ensure customer’s issues are up to date and any follow ups required are attended in a timely manner 
•    Coordinate support and drive customer technical issues using consultative methods, and in partnership with support and engineering teams
•    Manage technical escalations and critical issues.
•    Methodical in troubleshooting problems raised by customer, delivering solutions that suits customer’s environment and use-case
•    Own and execute customer status calls and reporting, and provide regular service reviews
•    Responsible for all KPI and driving resolution goals. 

 

What it takes to Excel
•    3+ years in a development/consulting/support roles
•    Strong functional expertise with Enterprise products in N-tier architecture
•    Demonstrated capacity in an advisor/SME role.
•    Experienced in installation, configuration and maintaining mainstream DB and Oses.
•    Bachelor Degree in IT or Engineering discipline OR equivalent experience / qualification.
•    Knowledge in Enterprise CMS (Sharepoint, OTCS, Documentum, BMC)
•    Demonstrated knowledge in Java Application Servers (Tomcat, Jboss, Weblogic etc), DB, Operating System’s troubleshooting (Windows/*nuxes)
•    Travel will be required.
