Job Description

Technical Support Engineer provides expert technical assistance to our customers and are distinguished by their technical expertise and problem-solving abilities, by their timeliness and reliable follow-through, and by their resourcefulness in diagnosing and researching solutions.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Successfully resolve software technical issues from incoming internal or external businesses and end user’s contacts and proactive notification systems.
  2. Respond to service, product, technical, and customer relations questions on subjects such as features, specifications, and troubleshooting on current and discontinued products
  3. Comfortable managing technical issue as well as customer business impact and ability to blend and appreciate these aspects in communication with customer
  4. Proactively assist internal or external customers to avoid or reduce problem occurrence.
  5. Excellent communication skills.

 

Education and Experience Required:

  1. BE/MS/ME/MTech in computer science or related field
  2. 1-4 years of technical support, application support, system integration or consulting experience
  3. Knowledge of Web Content Management (WCM) or other enterprise systems preferred.
  4. TeamSite/LiveSite product knowledge is desired.

 

Technical Skills Required:

  1. Advanced working knowledge of Windows Server, Unix/Linux OS.
  2. Experience with MySQL/Microsoft SQL Server (2008+) / Oracle 10 or 11 installation, configuration, queries - Development and/or administrative experience with either DB types is an advantage
  3. Experience in analyzing or debugging (Windows -logs, Java debugging, Browser debugging).
  4. Basic Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, HTTP/s, Firewalls)
  5. Familiarity with Java, C++, or other object-oriented programming languages
  6. Familiarity with Microsoft IIS, WebSphere, WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere MQ
  7. Familiarity with JavaScript, XML, XSLT and Perl scripting
  8. Dump analysis and Performance monitoring knowledge a bonus
  9. Exposure to WCM System (Teamsite, Livesite, Drupal, Wordpress) is a bonus

 

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in language to be supported. Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in Mandarin is required.
  2. Experience in troubleshooting in a technical environment with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  3. Superior customer service skills and customer service attitude
  4. Ability to solve and document solutions for usage of other technicians and customers
  5. Ability to lead resolution activities with escalated customers
  6. Ability to learn quickly and work as a member of a team
  7. Must enjoy working with people and have a happy and helpful disposition
