Lead Accountant

Regular activities

Monthly accounting close under US GAAP/Quarterly accounting close under local GAAP

Perform BS/PL fluctuation analysis and ensure they are not materially misstated

Prepare financial statements and supplementary schedules under local GAAP/company law

Calculate the chargeback of data center costs to Canada entity

Preparation of tax returns

Preparation of temporary/permanent difference items per corporate tax return

Preparation of consumption tax payable analysis



Co-work with manager in building company-wide strategy and process for how to deal with tax audit under electronic archiving rule

Lead/execute projects when new accounting standards and/or tax law are introduced and new process need to be implemented

Deal with tax audit


Assist TP team in preparation of local TP file (ex. explanation of function)

Be a good advisor to stakeholders for how transactions should be treated from accounting/tax perspective

Handle sealing application


Background / Experience

University degree, preferably finance related

Highly valued if US CPA / certified tax accountant, or passing subjects of these exams

5~ years' experience at finance department of foreign subsidiary and/or 3~ years' experience at accounting/tax firms



Logical thinking, willingness to learn, problem solving

Problem solving - be able to define the issue and to come up with proposed solution by referring to accounting standards/tax law and confirming with stakeholders


Strong capability in accounting and/or tax below


Conceptual understanding of US GAAP and/or Japan GAAP

Experience in monthly accounting closing



Experience in preparation of corporate tax return and consumption tax analysis

Abundance in knowledge/experience in dealing with tax matters involving oversea (transfer price, consumption tax, etc)

Experience in dealing with tax audit


Internal control

US SOX preferred
