The Opportunity: 


Reporting to the Vice President of Professional Services the Client Director, Learning Services is responsible for the achievement of specific revenue, margin, utilization, and quality goals for OpenText Learning Services.  The Client Director, Learning Services will provide sales support as it relates to Customer Learning Services by developing strong relationships with our clients and internal-facing organizations (namely Sales, Services, Client Success & Support).  The Client Director, Learning Services will be responsible for the development and deployment of learning solutions for targeted customers and will be responsible for the successful strategy & execution of OpenText learning solutions and enterprise subscription business and traditional learning services.  This includes ensuring client success through detailed scoping and need assessment, development of innovative and continuous learning programs customized for the named client and ensuring the highest quality development and implementation.  

In this role you will partner closely with our professional services client directors and RVP’s, Services project management teams, and Client Success teams to support large implementations and enterprise clients, positioning and articulating the learning solution vision and implementation.  

 

You will have financial responsibility and accountability for Learning Services business targets across the OpenText portfolio. In addition to hitting targets for revenue and margin, you are expected to produce accurate forecasts for the coming month and quarter and participate in annual planning. He/she also has to manage the processes for closing each month accurately by the deadline.

Primary Duties:


•    Client facing role, in person or remote scoping and solutioning support, travel required
•    Ensure all current Learning Services information is communicated to the field and customer base via regional sales meetings, user group meetings etc.
•    Develop strong cooperative relationships with client-facing teams, serving as the authority on non-traditional, subscription, custom, complex and enterprise level Learning Services programs.
•    Provide strategic roadmaps for targeted customers & strategic partners.
•    Review course evaluations, status reports and assessment results to ensure learning consultants consistently meet client expectations supporting the highest quality delivery and solution.
•    Daily monitoring and management of specific measures, such as revenue, costs, utilization, etc.
•    Develop strategies for tailored education/learning programs and products supporting customer business requirements that span across the OpenText product suites, with industry trends in mind
•    Bring feedback from field on customer requirements for ed technologies & HOL’s and strategic programs to ensure alignment, optimization and overall effectiveness and adoption of OpenText learning solutions.
•    Evangelize the value of Learning Services, user adoption and continuous learning programs with internal and external audiences as a learning SME
•    Navigate and negotiate across organizations and advocate for OpenText Learning Services programs and products.
•    Provide strategic updates for executive audience 
•    Infuse thought leadership and industry best practices into learning program customer recommendations, 
•    Ensure the highest quality customer experience from quote to delivery
•    Actively participate in industry and stay current on education industry trends

 

Skills and Knowledge


•    A post-secondary degree in a related discipline with 15+ years of relevant experience in sales, operations and delivery of for-profit educational programs for customers and partners. 
•    Strategic thinker who can build business models
•    Passion for knowledge creation, learning & adoption and building expertise.
•    Advanced experience in software services sales (Education / Consulting specialization &/or SaaS preferred).
•    Advanced negotiation skills (proven).
•    Advanced Experience making presentations to customers and internal groups.
•    Advanced experience of the software industry and software products.
•    Advanced knowledge of business contract principles, methods, terminology and exceptional sales forecasting skills
•    Proven leadership experience and ability to influence and collaborate across the broader OpenText organization and at an executive level.
•    Proven experience successfully collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders at various levels in the organization to drive change
•    Proven program and project management skills and ability to execute, with strong attention to detail
•    Strategic thinker with ability to be hands-on in design and execution, proven prioritization skills, working in fast-paced environment
•    Excellent written and verbal English communication 
•    Self-starter, takes initiative, follows through to completion
•    Experience succeeding within a complex multi-solution culture with a global footprint
•    Experience working in enterprise-class SaaS software companies
•    Prior experience with Enterprise Information Management software would be an asset
•    Exceptional organization, decision making, problem-solving, interpersonal and influencing skills
•    Ability to recognize and implement realistic and practical “real world” solutions
•    Commitment to lifelong learning and staying current on learning industry trends and innovations
