THE OPPORTUNITY:

  • The Corporate Communications Manager will join a global communications team that leads the proactive and strategic external and internal communications and tactics in support of OpenText’s corporate vision and mission.

  • This role will be responsible for the developing and implementing strategic communication plans and content that generate awareness of OpenText products and industry solutions, support the OpenText corporate brand and drive results.

  • Central to the role will be an understanding of multiple distribution models including social media, owned (blogs), earned (PR) and paid (content partnership) channels that will be used to promote the content and increase our brand and product awareness and executive visibility.

 

YOU ARE GREAT AT:

  • Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, the Corporate Communications Manager role is critical in the OpenText Corporate Communications organization, responsible for the successful development, management, and implementation of internal and external communication plans supporting key corporate functions at OpenText (including Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I), Corporate Citizenship, Investor Relations, M&A, and the office of the CEO teams) to achieve on business goals.

  • Create and execute internal and external communication plans that include multiple distribution channels including social media, owned (blogs), earned (PR) and paid (content partnership) that will be used to promote the content and increase our brand and product awareness and executive visibility.

  • Develop and draft engaging and strategic internal communications announcements for OpenText’s intranet and internal social media platform.

  • Draft external corporate announcements/press releases, manage and respond to media inquiries, and support executive media interviews by preparing messaging briefs and coaching as needed.

  • Play a key role in the planning and execution of key global internal and external events.

  • Support corporate award applications.

  • Define and measure external and internal communications effectiveness via tracking and analytics.

  • Develop strong media relationships with business, consumer, finance, and technology media.

  • Work with team members around the world to enhance campaigns and brand in our global markets.

  • Work closely with broader marketing team to ensure that campaign plans and messaging are complementary and aligned with OpenText voice and tone.

  • Work cross-functionally in a dynamic team environment and maintain positive relationships with key business partners.

  • Demonstrate record of creating and driving successful communications strategies and creative campaigns that are strongly rooted in business goals.

 

WHAT IT TAKES:

  • 7+ years of experience in Corporate Communications or PR with proven ability to execute.

  • A self-starter and someone who is comfortable working across teams

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail

  • Current knowledge of all major social platforms – inc. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and social media best practices

  • Current knowledge of major internal channels – inc. Yammer, MS Teams Live events

  • Strong and committed work ethic and the ability to work in a distributed but collaborative team environment.

  • Understanding of the news environment in the U.S. and Canada, and what journalists seek in a story.

  • Excellent time management skills; highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Experience working on strategic corporate communications planning and execution in support of ED&I and Corporate Citizenship initiatives an asset.

 

For Colorado residents, this job is expected to pay in the range of $80,000 to $125,000 USD in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan. Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
