Director, Product Management

Req id:  3028

Virtual, GB

As the Information Company, our mission at OpenText is to create software solutions and deliver services that redefine the future of digital. Be part of a winning team that leads the way in Enterprise Information Management.

Are you seeking to change up your career in Product Management or to work in a Cyber Security business dominating its market? The Webroot Product team is looking for a dynamic, self-starting, and experienced Product Management professional with team leadership skills to help drive innovation, compliance and exciting expansion plans.

With demonstrable team leadership and mentoring skills, you are experienced and skilled at communicating and pursuing a vision with business stakeholders.  Your strong collaboration skills have marked you out as a team player whilst your ownership and drive has shown team members and colleagues that you are able to own and lead an unusual, mixed ‘product’ portfolio as a team leader. You are able to successfully navigate competing priorities and have the skill to say ‘no’ when the Vision and Strategy need you to.

As the Director of Product Management you will be responsible for communicating and executing against the vision and strategy for our cloud technologies across our various channels globally. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, and Product, you will be an evangelist on activities in this space. You will be directly responsible for releases and helping define a unified product experience for both internal and external customers and partners.

You possess a blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You should have experience and understanding of the Big Data technology space and be able to quickly ramp up knowledge on the Cyber Security industry’s use of large Data and Data lakes.

Our development methodology blends internal and external teams using Agile development methodologies, and you will work with development team members and other Product Managers to execute the Development roadmap and define the associated release requirements for the development team. This role will be pivotal in exposing the varied and disparate work streams to a wider business audience, providing expert analysis, updates and guidance to Product managers, Engineers, and leaders across the business.

This role has a mix of well-defined processes and platforms; however, some areas are greenfield – you will be recovering dormant, amending existing, and creating new process and procedures to enable the engineering teams (primarily within Derby, UK) to interface with a vastly expanded organization post our acquisition by OpenText.

  • Owning and understanding the market, customer & operational needs, act as liaison and subject matter expert for the maintenance and innovation of complex big data solutions.
  • Helping deliver the product vision, strategy and roadmaps for the Cloud Platforms & UI Consoles
  • Assisting in establishing and maintaining standards and guidelines for the design, deployment, and maintenance of information and advanced data analytics.
  • Measuring the success of the product from multiple perspectives and able to report out to C/E Level Leadership
  • Using data driven decisions to prioritize, enable, and deliver.
  • Visible and social – the role requires the ability to drive cross-team collaboration and building relationships with key stakeholders, often negotiating and balancing different team’s needs.
  • Partner with other Product managers and development teams to deliver a unified product experience with input from customers, prospects, analysts, advisory teams and internal product experts.
  • Make tough prioritization choices and find creative solutions to hard problems.
  • Drive feature delivery & lifecycle: research customer/user needs; assist in writing user stories with Agile Team Coordinators, work with engineering to develop, test and deliver service innovations on time.
  • Assist with internal and external communication.
  • Interface directly with customers and the Webroot support team on customer escalations.

  • Extensive Product Management experience, some of which must have been in the Cyber/Network Security industry or directly related to the MSP space
  • Direct experience of large-scale Public Cloud infrastructure or Public Private Cloud infrastructure
  • A self-starter with proven ability to take initiative as well as balance competing priorities
  • Highly collaborative and able to partner effectively with both technical, Product, operations and Field sales teams
  • Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM and Kanban
  • Demonstrable team management/mentoring experience.
