Job Description – Lead Consultant

 

The OpenText Content Professional Services Practice is searching for a dynamic and resourceful individual to join our Canadian team as a Lead Technical Consultant. The Lead Technical Consultant applies business & technical skills, as well as consulting methodologies, to collect and analyze information to design, configure and implement Open Text solutions based on unique customer requirements. 


This position is focused on Enterprise accounts with an emphasis on the Open Text Content Suite product line. This role works closely with customers and other Professional Service Consultants in the delivery of Open Text engagements, as well as with the Account Executives, Solution Consultants and Strategic Partners throughout the sales and delivery cycles. 
 

You're great at: 


•    Delivering Professional Services engagements with confidence and high quality.
•    Demonstrating technical leadership with Enterprise Content Management Products & Utilities, specifically focusing on Information access and security modeling, Records Management, Email Management, Business Workflows, Governance and Reporting.
•    Effectively communicating through excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Delivering presentations, workshops, and live demonstrations to a mixed audience of technical, business, and management staff.
•    Leading discussions and formal blueprinting workshops to gather and analyze customer business requirements and translate into a solution that best utilizes Open Text product functionality.
•    Ability to clearly document the requirements, design, and implementation guidelines as well as the test plan for the benefit of the customer.
•    Prepare knowledge transfer documentation and conduct training sessions to internal team members and customer personnel.
•    Working in conjunction with Open Text colleagues to implement technical configurations.
•    Ability to work directly with the project managers to identify project scope, implementation plan, resourcing, timelines, and budgeting for each project task in early phase of the project and throughout the project.
•    Being flexible and participating in multiple projects simultaneously. One project may involve designing a records management solution, the next might require configuring and testing a solution component.
•    Demonstrating strong customer-facing skills by building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
•    Mentoring junior consultants on solutions, technology, and delivery of OpenText Content projects.
•    Feed into our continual product improvement process by working closely with Product Management, Engineering and Support to present new ideas, client feedback and identify software issues.
•    Preparing, maintaining, and submitting weekly activity/progress reports and time recording reports in accordance with published procedures.
•    Interacting with sales, services, and partners to scope project efforts, create estimates, and respond to RFPs.
   

What it takes:


•    The candidate should have 8+ years of professional experience in implementing medium to complex ECM solutions.
•    Experience in OpenText Content Suite Platform or other Enterprise Content Management Products & Utilities. 
•    A solid grasp of a variety of technologies that include development languages, tools, web-based technology that could be involved in an OpenText solution.
•    Knowledge and understanding of on-premises and cloud enterprise software deployments.
•    Knowledge of Cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
•    The confidence, communication, and interpersonal skills to guide customers, from technical personnel to C-level executives.
•    Commercial awareness that will drive OpenText revenue. This is a revenue-generating position.
•    Planning skills that will drive customer adoption of OpenText technology across the client organization.
•    Business Development skills with demonstrable experience of farming user bases and new customers.
•    Time management skills that will enable projects to be delivered on time and on budget.
•    Highly professional team player with the ability to work independently, while being part of a dynamic team.
•    Ability to maintain focus on multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Independent, confident self-starter able to work with minimal direct supervision.
•    Goal-oriented to achieve business objectives.
•    Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
•    Canadian Government clearance is an asset.
•    Ability to converse, read, and write in French is desirable.
•    Adhere to Open Text’s internal standards and best practices for consistent, high-quality project delivery.
•    Travel is a requirement of this position.
•    Location: Ontario or Quebec.
