The Opportunity:
The role we have is for a Lead Consultant to join our CEM Professional Services Practice in North America. As a member of the Professional Services team you will work directly with customers, delivering implementations of OTMM solutions. The role requires a blend of strong technical skills and would suit a technical consultant or someone wanting to expand from a purely software development role into one that is more client facing, but still highly technical.
It’s important you are comfortable interacting with both business and technical team members, utilizing consulting and hands-on development skill sets.
You are great at:
•Working directly with clients to translate their business requirements into coherent and pragmatic technical requirements definitions
•Provide trusted knowledge and guidance to both clients and internal teams
•Design, document and implement agreed solutions
•Use project management and business judgement skills on a daily basis to ensure risks are managed and client satisfaction achieved
•Feed into our continual product improvement process by working closely with Product Management, Engineering and Support to present new ideas, client feedback and identify software issues
•Assisting the Sales team by the provision of technical expertise in pre-sales scenarios
•Adjusting to rapid changes where the business direction requires it. As an example this may involve POC implementations and estimates at short notice.

•Software development background
•Technical skills:
o3+ years of Java/JEE experience
oExperience with Java, Javascript, CMS frameworks, Web Servers (Apache, IIS), Tomcat Application Server. Other JEE application servers is optional but beneficial.
oExperience with popular Java packages(Spring, Hibernate, XML Parsing…)
oExperience of gathering functional and technical requirements, specifying, designing, and implementing solutions with mastery of software architecture and consulting.
oUnderstanding of Application Architecture, High level and Low level design, Middleware/Application Servers and the ability to look at product architectural documents and identify potential issues
oProven experience of software development and configuration experience with strong hands-on skills, solid understanding of architecture and design patterns
oBuilding and consuming webservices (using RESTful APIs)
oDesired - Responsive design including proficiency with common front-end web frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap).
oDesired - Web-based platform/application development
oFundamentally good programming and debugging skills
oUnderstanding of performance and security in the enterprise context
oExperience of profiling tools is useful
oKnowledge and experience working of IT infrastructure, networking and Oracle/SQL/PostgreSQL database layers
oMastery of Windows (both desktop and server) and Linux operating systems, with the ability to perform extensive administrative tasks
oDesired- Knowledge of containerization specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
oDesired - Knowledge of Cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure
•Consulting skills
oOperational skills to understand the business context, support workshops, design, estimate, assist, advise, develop and troubleshoot.
oExcellent communication skills that will promote trust and clarity with customers and at all levels
oCommercial awareness that will drive OpenText revenue
oPlanning skills that will drive customer adoption of OpenText technology across the organization
oBusiness Development skills with demonstrable experience of farming user bases and new customers
oTime management skills that will enable projects to be delivered on time and on budget
oStrong learning and analytical skills and effective problem solving
oAbility to work independently as well as in a team environment
oExperience liaising with groups of people across several geographies
oWillingness to work away from home on customer sites when required across North America. Occasional foreign travel may be required, up to 100%, typically <25% annually.

oBachelor degree or equivalent experience
oFluent English. Working with onshore and offshore teams
oExcellent written and verbal communication

oExperience of Digital Asset Management product
oKnowledge of OTMM
