The Opportunity:

 

The OpenText Analytics Magellan platform delivers information to virtually unlimited numbers of users in record-breaking time. This highly scalable and clustered server platform generates, manages and securely delivers interactive, actionable business information to employees, customers and partners. OpenText Analytics Magellan can integrate information from any data source and application, and can be phased in, adding features and resources as.

 

The OpenText Analytics Magellan Platform product development team is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join the team. You will utilize knowledge and experience to perform design, systems analysis, research, maintenance, troubleshooting and other programming activities. You will also play a key role in the development of work teams by providing others with direction and leadership.


You are great at:

  • Leading, driving, implementing highly scalable and complex solutions
  • Produce high quality code according to design specifications
  • Utilizing analytical skills to developing new features, as well as, enhancing existing features, and frameworks, and troubleshooting complex code defects
  • Defining best practices and standards for database design.
  • Leading software design/code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to company standards
  • Working within teams and with cross teams, to deliver efficient and scalable code
  • Taking ownership of features and code bases, working under pressure, and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Leading and driving enhancements and providing input on products and features developed by the team.
  • Providing status updates to stakeholders and escalating issues when necessary

 

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 6+ years of enterprise product development
  • Must have strong Java programming skills
  • Knowledge or experience working with Servlet is required
  • Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/CSS3, Bootstrap
  • Experience in one of the UI frameworks (jQuery, React, AngularJS, Struts) is required
  • Experience/knowledge of Soap and/or Restful API are strongly preferred
  • RDBMS experience is required with one of the databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL or DB2
  • Experience working with one of the application servers is strongly preferred: Tomcat, JBoss, Oracle application server/web logic, web sphere
  • Strong knowledge on algorithm design and analysis, including knowledge of data structures and design patterns
  • Performance and security awareness in web application design is highly deseriable.
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum development model is a plus
  • Working experience with Eclipse development environment is required
  • Knowledge/experience with SWT/JFACE/GEF
  • Experience with business intelligence and HDFS/Hadoop/Spark is a strong plus
