The Opportunity: 


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join an fast-paced front-end development team working on the flagship management console for the Webroot product families.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in a test-first React environment, using JSS for styling, plus Git, WebPack and TeamCity for version control, build and deployment.

Along with technical excellence in all things front-end, you should also posess great team leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring, educating and supporting your fellow team members - plus a keen eye for system design – not just thinking about the smaller features, but solutions for the overall platform and user interface as a whole..



What You Are Great At:


The successful candidate will be a essential member of our development team based in the UK, as well as collaborating with teams internationally.  They will design, develop and deliver new features, or expand and improve on existing functionality in order to advance the capabilities and usability of our online management console.

This is a great opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer who can tackle complex workflows and is able to take leadership of varied projects. This individual will need to be high functioning, communicative and motivated in a remote work environment. They will feel comfortable being the focal point of a team, and confident in providing input and guidance during the creation of high-visibility products and features.


What it takes to excel:


  • Strong core JavaScript knowledge
  • Solid experience of using React & Redux
  • Comfortable with “test-first” as your approach to testing (TDD / BDD)
  • SASS or JSS for styling
  • Good understanding of package management (NPM) and build processes (WebPack)
  • Familiarity of version control and continuous integration (Git / GitLab / TeamCity)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and help guide stakeholders on anticipated completion dates


Desirable experience which would be beneficial, but not essential:

  • Working in an agile process and iterative development methods
  • Building reusable components
  • Building and contributing to complex, single-page applications
  • Micro-front-end architecture
