THE OPPORTUNITY:

 

The primary focus of the Marketing PMO & Strategic Initiatives team is to provide strategic planning, governance, and project management support for cross-functional initiatives that impact the marketing team and frequently, the rest of the organization.

The Sr. Marketing Program Manager is responsible for end-to-end cross-functional project and program management with a specific focus on product launches and GTM programs as well as the development of supporting tools and applications. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and/or overseeing several large cross-functional programs and ensuring the successful and effective delivery and outcomes of all projects. You will support all business units in ensuring that major product launch deliverables are executed on time and within scope while achieving the right level of company readiness. You are very well versed in project management standards, methodologies, and best practices and have both technical and non-technical project management knowledge. Finally, you are ready to embrace and drive the internal adoption of a data-driven and agile approach across your team’s initiatives.

 

YOU ARE GREAT AT:

 

  • Working with stakeholders across the organization to define the requirements and success criteria for each initiative and ensure that program plans and schedules are aligned with those requirements and success criteria. For each project, identify the appropriate project management approach, build and lead a cross-functional project team, and monitor execution.
  • Ensure that all projects and programs have defined goals and success criteria, a project schedule and supporting documentation, as well as an escalation and reporting mechanism. 
  • Proactively assess any red flag situations, determine the appropriate action, and escalate to manager as needed. Regularly report on project progress to senior management. Communicate risks and dependencies in a timely manner.
  • Identify stakeholders for each project and recognize differing reporting needs and styles. Ensure visibility into progress of each project through appropriate reporting for each stakeholder. Build relationships with stakeholders across the organization and externally, as appropriate.
  • Track, measure, analyze, and report results of all programs. Recommend optimization that achieves improved results.
  • For product launches, a key to success will be close alignment with the field, enablement, and product teams to define and ensure readiness for each launch effort. You will be working very closely with those teams to ensure alignment on program deliverables and to evolve the delivery framework accordingly to address changing organizational and market needs. You will also be working together with our content strategy team to ensure that any marketing collateral developed is aligned with the content strategy framework.
  • You will be comfortable with ambiguity and able to work with stakeholders to help them identify success criteria and deliverables against those criteria.

 

WHAT IT TAKES:

 

  • A minimum of six years of project and/or program management experience, ideally in an enterprise software organization.
  • Good understanding of marketing processes with a working knowledge of product launch frameworks and organizational launch readiness being highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with all project management phases and process. Exposure to different project management styles in both technical and non-technical environments would be highly beneficial.
  • Well-developed ability to build and lead cross-functional and/or virtual teams.
  • An effective and skilled communicator who can sell his or her vision and action plan in a way that ensures others’ buy-in; someone who can interact effectively with people who have differing work styles.
  • Out-of-the-box thinker: project management frequently requires critical thinking as well as innovative solutions and new approaches to old problems.
  • Ability to see both the strategic big picture and execute against detail. You must know the difference between strategy and tactics and be able to manage your time and work accordingly.
  • The ability to capably manage multiple projects with competing priorities, delegate when needed, prioritize, juggle numerous projects and project details, and communicate upwardly as appropriate.
  • Strong and committed work ethic and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with Pragmatic Marketing and/or Sirius Decisions frameworks would be a nice-to-have for this role.
