The Cloud Services Product Management team is responsible for leading the development and implementation of OpenText’s Cloud Services offerings across its complete lifecycle, owning the roadmap of the same for the Cloud Service Delivery (CSD) organization. This role reporting into the Director of Cloud Services Product Management, requires the successful candidate to work cross-functionally across CSD and the various Product organizations to define and deliver valuable, secure, scalable and available solutions and managed services as Cloud offerings.

You always operate with the right customer-context and with a stakeholder-informed point of view, often taking initiative with an owner’s mindset.

 

 

This is a virtual, work-from-home position for residents of Canada or the USA

 

As an ideal candidate, you are very experienced as a product manager with a strong track record of leading products, as demonstrated by your products’ adoption and success in the market. You have a product pedigree and service background, a head for business, and a pragmatic, data-driven, and often strategic approach to problem-solving. You are non-political, with the ability to influence others across different business and functional teams and you have demonstrated leadership by defining and rolling out successful releases, initiatives, and processes. 

 

The leader in this role will work with not only the Director of Cloud Services Product Management but various product leaders, to prioritize and implement the shared vision of the organization, being responsible for the planning and timely delivery of outcome-driven projects while performing appropriate scope management. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and “hands-on” product and program management skills. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver on requirements and the roadmap for key Cloud Service Delivery initiatives for OpenText Cloud.
  • Partner with CloudOps, Product Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams to help deliver a progressively scalable and valuable Cloud platform of services.
  • Partner with Sales to assess new opportunities and to articulate clear and confident messaging in response to prospect and customer inquiries related to Cloud Service offerings.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Open Text Cloud platform and services to support internal customers, external customers and government agencies.
  • Partner with CloudOps, Product Engineering, Product Management to identify the necessary investments and tradeoffs that come with delivering what matters to the customer and OpenText’s Cloud business.

 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education        

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent practical experience; MBA and/or software development experience a plus.

 

Experience Required    

  • 10+ years of industry experience, preferably in Cloud and for a global, high-tech environment, especially holding a technical/product management role.

 

Required Knowledge   

  • What it takes to define, build, and ship successful, Cloud products and services at scale.

 

Skills and Abilities      

  • Passionate about winning in the Cloud business / industry.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills; solid business acumen; strong ability to influence as skills are crucial.
  • In-depth knowledge of application development models inherent to enterprise software, platforms, and services.
  • Prior experience in Cloud-based infrastructure software, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud IaaS platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge and experience driving requirements and coordinating activities for application development and delivery.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building strong relationships and establishing credibility with internals collaborators and stakeholders, and the management team are a must.
  • Proven organizational skills; ability to multi-task and work on several products and initiatives concurrently required.
  • Ability to prioritize complex and often competing deliverables and develop creative strategies to maintain progress toward business objectives despite various roadblocks.
  • Effective facilitation skills for participatory decision making.
  • Both team-oriented and self-motivated.
