Principal Software Architect

Work with other senior architects in the Enterprise Architecture team for OpenText Engineering to influence the direction, technology, and architecture of OpenText solutions. It’s an exciting environment where you work with a wide variety of technologies and solutions and also get an opportunity to explore, adopt and advocate for contemporary processes, technologies and techniques.


The Opportunity:


Compelling opportunity in the Enterprise Architecture team: You will be responsible for working with multiple engineering teams on defining and governing their technical roadmap, architectural foundation, and adoption of contemporary cloud practices.


Using your skills in technology and architecture, you will help them in assessing their current state, advise them on solutions to business needs or operational problems, and act as their advocates for other functional areas of OpenText as well as for executive leadership.

You will get a chance to do hands on collaboration with the engineering teams, as well as curate and present strategies and solutions to executive leadership.



You Are Great At:


  • Understanding, analyzing, and describing full stack applications – from backend services to UIs
  • Cloud and off-cloud development and understanding of multi-tenant architectures
  • Taking initiative and defining an action plan against a specified goal. Presenting the approaches plans to peers and other teams
  • Contemporary cloud native architecture and service development: Designing composite solutions through service integrations in multitenant cloud


What It Takes:


  • Required: Java, JEE, REST Web Services,  Contemporary CI/CD, Hyperscaler Cloud Experience, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, Oracle,
  • Desired: JavaScript,  ElasticSearch, SOLR, Cassandra,
  • Extensive experience with application architect responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to architect highly available, high volume transaction and messaging systems based on open systems hardware and software
