The Business Value Consulting team's mission is to drive increased sales by helping prospects understand the potential value of an investment in OpenText solutions and guide customers towards realization of that value.  Collaborating with senior business executives from the prospect, the Value Engineer can help formulate customer-specific business cases that connect the company's strategic goals, business challenges, and industry trends to the OpenText solution, while crystallizing the value proposition. The result of the BVC team's efforts is an increase in OpenText's win rate, increased deal sizes, shortened sales cycles, and demonstrative stakeholder centricity.


The opportunity:

As a Value Engineer you will be responsible for working with customers to help them understand the business value of both the immediate and progressive investment in OpenText technologies, based on improvements to business process and associated information management.
•    Working on selected strategic accounts identified as having major revenue development potential via improved information and process management 
•    Conducting onsite ‘consultancy engagement’ designed to analyze customer business processes and identify business pains 
•    Organizing and executing discovery workshops to develop and deliver compelling Business Synopsis inclusive of Value Maps, prioritized Solution Roadmap and Business Assessment including ROI and TCO analysis 
•    Enabling the Account Executive for success by providing the customer with compelling investment logic – benefits and financial justification, linked to OpenText technology 


What you’re great at:

As Principal Value Engineer, a senior-level professional, you will support multiple engagements in complex environments:

•    Collaborate with the local team of Account Executives and Solution Consultants, as appropriate, you will take responsibility and offer leadership in the identification of value, alongside colleagues who can complement your contribution with full support in terms of technology and deployment understanding.
•    Consult with customers at all levels from operational staff to CEO, recognizing the different needs of individuals at different levels and different functions 
•    Construct compelling, easy-to-understand benefit analysis and financial investment deliverables
•    Customer interface scenarios – audiences of varying sizes and compositions, presenting formally, facilitating or in less formal meeting scenarios – and “good on their feet”, able to handle objections, disruptions or other unexpected inputs with confidence and self-confidence 
•    Diplomatically coach, challenge, and extend customers’ thinking to assure full capture of both direct and indirect business benefits of a proposed process and/or EIM improvement 
•    Understand and ability to articulate how the complete OpenText solution lines work together to provide business value 
•    Communicate complex concepts and issues effectively, selecting language, tone, and format perfectly targeted to the audience 
•    Foster open communication and candid discussions with people at all levels of the organization, even on highly sensitive topics 
•    Expertly make compelling presentations to sophisticated and/or difficult audiences 


What it takes:

 •  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 
 •    7+ years relevant work experience in experience in sales, business development or management consulting 
 •  C- Level messaging and influencing experience. Understands value proposition of leveraging technology to enable digital business 
 •  Knowledge of enterprise applications and related processes including ERP, CRM, HCM, etc.
 •   Understands KPIs and value chains within multiple industries 
 • Strong quantitative and analytical skills including knowledge of financial statement analysis and modeling.
 •   Executive engagement, facilitation, and public speaking techniques and experience.
•   Experience with development of business cases that include benefits, ROI Analysis, Total Cost of Ownership and Competitive Analysis, Risk Management, Implementation roadmap and Business Transformation Strategies.
•    Ability to work effectively in virtual teams
