The Mainframe Application Modernization Principal at OpenText is responsible for the technical delivery of the Application Modernization and Connectivity (AMC) solution for our Enterprise customers. In this role, you will provide technical support to enable the Digital Transformation of our mainframe Customers by means of migrating their application workload in a Hybrid Cloud infrastructure, in line with project and customer time scales.
This role has a heavy emphasis on customer front-end delivery, combined with the consultative skills required to promote the impression of quality and excellence actively fostered within the Professional Services team.
What You’re Great At:

Working on complex projects with minimal direction from the technical lead and with Customer/SI’s.

Contributing to design for specific deliverables and assists in the deployment of OpenText AMC products

Helping implement new solutions under the direction of team Solution Architects

Creating proof of concept / proof of value technology analysis and pilots.

Conducting external and internal technical presentations and trainings to peer groups

Using and contributing to technical forums within the OpenText environment and local professional communities and technical user groups

Applying your subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common technical issue

Participating as part of a team and maintains good relationships with team members and customers
What It Takes:
- Expert knowledge of the following technologies:
- IBM Enterprise COBOL or PLI programming experience
- System level experience of IBM CICS; IMS and JCL
- Relational databases, such as IBM DB2/UDB, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server; PostgreSQL;
- Windows, Linux, Unix operating system
- Knowledge of major Cloud Provider infrastructure and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, Docker / Kubernetes

Experience with tools and methodologies used to migrate mainframe workloads via hardware/middleware emulation, automated code conversion, and re-platforming.

Experience with COBOL modernization and porting application code across platforms.

Familiarity with agile engineering practices like Test Automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), DevOps, and Test Data Management, etc.

Experience developing, deploying, and tuning data modernization solution for mainframe such as IMS/DB, IDMS, ADABAS and VSAM data migration
For Colorado residents, the minimum compensation estimated for this position is $145795 in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and health care plan. Individual compensation will be determined based on skill and experience comparable to the job requirements.
