Sr. External Reporting Analyst (Remote Canada)

The Opportunity:
External Reporting is responsible for all publicly filed documents made with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This includes quarterly and annual financial statements filled in Form 10-Qs and 10-Ks. 

As a Senior Analyst in External Reporting, this person will help gather, prepare and review financial statements and notes to financial statements on a quarterly basis. In addition, this role will also support the preparation and review of Audit Committee reports, reports to support Investor Relations and other ad hoc reports as required. 

You Are Great At:

  • Assist with the preparation of 10-Q and 10-K filings and ensure all disclosures made within the document are in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulatory reporting requirements and that such disclosures are true statements and not misleading. 
  • Prepare and/or review disclosures, including the MD&A, supporting documents and maintaining documentation for all disclosures in accordance with the Company’s SOX Controls. 
  • Assist in the preparation or review of quarterly Audit Committee materials and quarterly earnings releases, earnings presentations, earnings call scripts, and investor conference materials for completeness and accuracy. 
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual consolidated financial statements accurately and on a timely basis. 
  • Assist in 10-Q and 10-K document tieouts. Reference supporting files and save documents in an organized manner. 
  • Prepare quarterly disclosure checklist in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. 
  • Assist in the overall planning, coordination and execution of the annual and quarterly SEC reporting processes. 
  • Perform ad hoc disclosure benchmarking research of peer group companies. 

What It Takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA is preferred) 
  • 2-4 years public accounting experience or financial reporting experience with a publicy traded company 
  • U.S. GAAP/SEC experience and technical knowledge of current accounting standards, including ability to research accounting literature 
  • Organized with an ability to prioritize competing workstreams and balance multiple tasks in a fast paced environment 
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as work in a team environment 
  • Ability to interact well at senior management levels 
  • Attention to detail and adherence to SOX processes essential 
  • Highly motivated and proactive with strong project management, organization, oral and written communication skills

For Colorado residents, this job is expected to pay in the range of $68,000 to $98,000 USD, in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan.  Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
