THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of OpenText’s marketing organization, the Senior Industry Marketing Manager for Manufacturing plays a critical role in defining and driving the overall marketing strategy for the manufacturing industry. This role involves developing compelling and powerful industry messaging that resonates with prospects, customers, and partners, while also aligning with broader business objectives. You will act as the primary industry expert, providing strategic insight and guidance to cross-functional teams and ensuring our solutions are tailored to the specific needs of the manufacturing sector.

 

The Senior Industry Marketing Manager for Manufacturing will support our global marketing and sales teams by creating impactful messaging, content, and go-to-market strategies that set OpenText apart in the competitive information management landscape. You will work across multiple business units, crafting a unified message that highlights OpenText’s value in key manufacturing sub-sectors such as automotive, high-tech, aerospace, and industrial. This role requires both industry expertise and strong strategic marketing skills to drive brand awareness, thought leadership, and demand generation.

 

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Industry Insight and Research: Conduct market research to identify key industry trends, customer pain points, compelling events and emerging opportunities. Understand macroeconomic factors and manufacturing-specific challenges that drive digital transformation and information management needs.
  • Messaging and Content Development: Develop cross-business unit messaging that clearly communicates the value of OpenText’s solutions to manufacturing companies. Ensure messaging addresses key industry challenges, such as supply chain optimization, operational efficiency, and compliance.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the manufacturing sector, ensuring alignment with OpenText’s global marketing goals and business objectives.
  • Sales Enablement: Collaborate with sales teams to create industry-focused materials, including presentations, case studies, and executive-level content. Support account-based marketing and input on strategic account plans.
  • Event Participation and Thought Leadership: Represent OpenText at industry conferences, trade shows, and webinars. Position the company as a thought leader in manufacturing digital transformation and information management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with demand generation, product marketing, and partner marketing teams to align strategies and drive lead generation efforts. Leverage industry insights to optimize marketing funnels and conversion rates.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with internal and external resources to produce compelling content that drives lead generation, including blogs, eBooks, whitepapers, success stories, videos, and more. Focus on content that showcases manufacturing-specific use cases and solutions.
  • Sales and Partner Enablement: Ensure readiness of sales teams and partners by developing training and enablement materials specific to the manufacturing sector.
  • Industry Solutions Development: Identify opportunities for cross-business unit solutions that address key manufacturing pain points. Work with product teams to develop tailored offerings that resonate with manufacturers.
  • Brand Awareness and Pipeline Acceleration: Increase OpenText’s visibility within the manufacturing sector through targeted marketing campaigns and initiatives that drive pipeline growth and accelerate the sales cycle.
  • Innovation and Future Trends: Identify and incorporate emerging technologies, such as AI, IoT, and Industry 4.0, into OpenText’s manufacturing strategy. Develop and execute strategies for introducing these innovations to manufacturing customers.
  • Social Media and Influencer Engagement: Embrace social media channels and identify key industry influencers who can amplify OpenText’s messaging and extend reach within the manufacturing industry.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the manufacturing sector, with a deep understanding of key industry challenges, processes, and digital transformation trends.
  • Market Awareness: Strong knowledge of manufacturing-specific compelling events, regulatory requirements, and mandates that impact information management and digital strategies.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with information management solutions, including content management, digital experience, cybersecurity, AI & analytics, and supply chain integration.
  • Messaging Expertise: Proven ability to create powerful, value-based messaging that aligns with industry challenges and customer needs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and compellingly.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experience developing go-to-market strategies that align with broader business goals and drive measurable results.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including marketing, sales, product, and demand generation teams.
  • Industry Thought Leadership: Passion for emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI, IoT, Industry 4.0) and their applications in manufacturing. Experience participating in industry forums and conferences is preferred.
  • Self-Starter: Highly autonomous, able to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects from conception through completion with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred Education: MBA preferred.
