The Position:

 

The SMBC Division of OpenText is seeking a Senior Product Manager with a track record of driving mobile products from concept to successful delivery and market adoption. This person will be responsible for existing and new products within our Mobile portfolio.

 

As the Senior Product Manager, Mobile Products, you will define and execute the vision and strategy for our consumer solutions for Online, in Retail and distributor channels globally with a focus on NA and Japan. Working closely with Development, UX, Sales and, Marketing teams you will be the authority and evangelist on all activities in this space.

 

We are seeking product managers who make market and data-driven decisions, can develop business cases to support product investment, and are comfortable making difficult tradeoff decisions.  You must be able to communicate and pursue your vision with key business stakeholders within the company.

 

You will be an expert in the mobile space, possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture perspective, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand what opportunities exist and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You will be or become a domain expert on consumer software technologies and the security market space.  You will gain deep knowledge of Customer behaviors, software sales and marketing strategies. Defining the value and measuring the impact of features is a key part of the role, an analytical approach is a must.

 

Specific Objectives and Responsibilities

 

Your First Six Months:

 

  • Internalize culture and values for the business
  • Dig deeply into our product, roadmap options and channel relationships
  • Write user stories, groom the backlog and prioritize features for development sprints
  • Plan the Go To Market for upcoming releases
  • Hold your first Product Line Review for the product and development teams

 

Six Months and Beyond:

 

  • Own and understand market needs and build product vision, execute discovery, strategy and roadmap
  • Partner with development teams to deliver world-class applications with input from customers, prospects, advisory teams and internal product experts
  • Make tough prioritization choices and find creative solutions to hard problems.
  • Partner with UX team to design and prototype; work with engineering to develop, test and deliver a marketable product on time; collaborate with customer-facing roles to drive market awareness and customer adoption
  • Represent Carbonite/Webroot as a domain and product expert at customer/partner meetings, industry and corporate events, online in customer communities and through social networking
  • Managing the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities for multiple products targeted at the mobile endpoint market
  • Contribute to pricing, positioning, and go to market activities
  • Analyze current and future partner relationships for the product portfolio;
  • Measuring the success of the product from multiple perspectives, beyond P&L;

Qualifications

 

  • 4+ years of software product management
  • Hands-on experience in the mobile application space
  • Experience with agile development methodologies like Scrum
  • Technical degree or work experience required
  • Experience with agile development methodologies like Scrum
  • This role is preferred to be in Broomfield CO, Boston or San Diego, but remote will be considered
  • Experience with security products and services is a plus 
  • Native Japanese languages skills a plus

 

 

For Colorado residents, this job is expected to pay in the range of $89,513 to $134,270 in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan.  Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
