Sr. Principal Consultant - Application Modernization & Connectivity (AMC)

The Opportunity:

An OpenText Professional Services Senior Consultant is responsible for the technical delivery of the Application Modernization & Connectivity (AMC) solution.

In such role you will provide technical support to enable the Digital Transformation of our mainframe Customers by means of migrating the application workload in a Hybrid Cloud infrastructure, in line with project and Customer time scales.

This role has a heavy emphasis on Customer back-end delivery, combined with the consultative skills required to promote the impression of quality and excellence actively fostered within the Professional Services team.

What You are great at:

· Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable migration automation tools and Field Development Solutions (FDS)

· Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

· Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

· Own and drive the research and implementation of customer requirements with minimal supervision

· Own one or more modules of the project end to end including supporting customers with fixes in the owned area

· A Team Player, collaborating with other local and remote component scrum teams to develop and support end to end solution

· Supporting customers, Troubleshooting, identifying issues and proposing solutions / alternative

What it takes to excel:

· Programming experience in COBOL

· Programming experience with SQL (SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

· Experience with Linux and Windows scripting (Bash, DOS batch, PowerShell)

· Experience with Perl and Regular Expression

· Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills

· Other Preferred Skills

· Programming experience in C, C++, Visual C++

· Programming experience in Java together with Eclipse, Tomcat, Web (JSP), TCP/IP comms

· Knowledge in C# and .NET technologies

· Experience with COBOL/PLI modernization and porting application code across platforms

· Hands-on technical experience with mainframe, non-x86 legacy systems and with technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, IMS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, PL/I, REXX, flat/sequential files, GDGs, and VSAM.

· AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Certifications
