Purpose of Position:
Product Marketing at OpenText is the heart of the marketing organization, developing compelling and powerful messaging that resonates with prospects, customers and partners. Our Product Marketers act as the bridge between Engineering, Product Management, Industry, Customer and Technical Marketing, Sales, Presales and the broader Marketing team, ensuring collaboration, consistency and cross-functional engagement. It is a strategic and collaborative team that brings our solutions to market and differentiates OpenText from the competition.
Role Overview:
This Senior Product Marketing Manager will support go-to-market for the OpenText Application Modernization, and Connectivity Portfolio, including cross product positioning, solution development and messaging. Reporting to the Senior Director, Product Marketing, this individual will focus on developing value-based messaging for target buying centers to support creation of content, enablement, and programs to drive new customer acquisition and expansion within the customer base. This is a global role with responsibility to develop and adapt strategies and messages for different regions.
Responsibilities Include:
- Developing concise, compelling messaging and positioning that emphasizes the business value of AMC solutions, for multiple target audiences throughout the buying journey
- Serving as the product evangelist and communicating product value across all internal and external channels, including sales, partners, media, industry analysts; presenting at customer and industry events; and on digital channels such as webinars, blogs, and social media
- Collaborating with demand generation teams, utilizing data and insights to create and improve strategies that drive traffic to our content, optimizing marketing funnels
- Working together with internal and external resources to create compelling content to support lead generation, nurture programs, sales and partner enablement, web content and funnel optimization programs (i.e. slide decks, blogs, eBooks, success stories, videos, etc.)
- Ensuring overall sales channel readiness through sales and partner enablement activities
- Monitoring the competitive landscape to define product positioning that differentiates
- Maintaining competitive resources such as battlecards, wikis and enablement presentations
- Identifying and capturing market and competitor trends to support sales and provide input on product direction
- Planning and execution of quarterly product launches and releases which may include strategies targeting new customers for OpenText
- Aligning with cross-BU product marketing and product management to identify and package capabilities into new solutions to meet current and emerging customer needs and position OpenText in new markets
Requirements:
- Experience in enterprise software, preferably with a focus on Application Modernization, Mainframe Modernization, Mainframe Connectivity preferred. With experience in adjacent markets in Data Protection, Data Analytics, and Data Analysis.
- At least 8 years of professional experience with at least 3 years in a Product Marketing function
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong content marketer
- Highly skilled in Smartsheet and Project management with an ability to coordinate cross functional teams to successful outcomes
- Aptitude for technology and the ability to connect technical concepts with customer value
- Demonstrated success in enabling large, global sales teams to clearly articulate value and differentiation
- Skilled in leading presentations and discussions with business, technical, and sales stakeholders
- Great interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to forge trusting relationships across a diverse team
- Highly autonomous, understanding how to prioritize and differentiate what matters from the noise, independently driving projects from conception through to completion
