Software Developer in Test

The Opportunity: 

We are seeking a Software Developer in Test who has a hunger to learn and a passion for software development. You should hold quality at the heart of everything you do, have a positive outlook, a ‘can do’ attitude and a real desire to succeed.


This role is virtual, with a preference for candidates based in Derby / Leicester / Nottingham / East Midlands.


You are great at:

  • Utilising market leading testing toolsets and ‘state of the art’ methodologies to design and develop highly effective (UI, API and Performance) automation frameworks and test suites.
  • Managing automated test delivery across multiple product lines.
  • Refining and increasing the efficiency of the automated delivery pipeline.
  • Working collaboratively with delivery teams to understand and refine product/feature requirements.
  • Creating, prioritising and tracking defects.
  • Staying abreast of industry-wide changes in technology, methodologies and tooling.
  • Working alongside fellow Engineers to develop and upskill the Test team in automation.


What it takes:

  • Hands-on experience of working with BDD testing frameworks/tools such as SpecFlow or Cucumber.
  • Solid experience in building UI and API automated test frameworks, test suites and delivery pipelines.
  • Strong C# programming skills and automated test tool knowledge (using tools such as Selenium).
  • Knowledge of developing or testing RESTful Web APIs.
  • Experience of working with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative agile environment using methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban.
  • Advocacy of a ‘test-first’ approach to software development.
  • Agile Tester or ISTQB certification.
