The OpenText Analytics Magellan platform delivers information to virtually unlimited numbers of users in record-breaking time. The OpenText Analytics Magellan Platform product development team is seeking a talented Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team. As a Senior QA Engineer you will utilize your skills, knowledge and experience to perform highly complex product testing, automation, systems analysis, research, maintenance, troubleshooting, as well as other programming activities. You will also play a key role in the development of work teams by providing others with direction and leadership. You will also be involved in cross-team planning activities such as providing status updates and coordinating activities.
You are great at:
- Developing and maintaining test strategies and test cases while performing all testing activities including functional, integration and regression testing
- Designing/Developing/Maintaining the Automation Framework. Also, setup regular execution test beds for continuous delivery
- Identifying, isolating, and communicating bugs effectively and efficiently
- Evaluating and communicating test coverage, *red flags- and anomalies to the Scrum team to aid in making the decision to certify releases.
- Working with a diverse set of enterprise applications
- Performing business/requirements analysis and identifying requirements traceability
- Having expertise in Scrum and being able to help team members create automation strategies for new features
- Conducting Performance and scalability assessments on products, integration of products, and solutions in varying deployment architectures
- Taking ownership of design and directing the creation of realistic and high-end test environments. These will include use of appropriate data sets, optimal configuration of all products and supporting infrastructure components
- Ensuring complete understanding and effective documentation of performance requirements test plans, and analysis methodologies to design product usage scenarios that, when run over a volume of requests, determine the responsiveness and scalability of the given operations on the given deployment architecture
- Choosing the most effective load test clients and being well versed in resource monitoring tools and techniques in a wide variety of environments
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting product and environmental issues as they arise
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent with 4+ years of experience with test-driven, behaviour-driven, or acceptance test-driven developments
- Experience in testing complex enterprise level applications
- Experience with open source automation frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG or Robot
- Experience on automation framework and tools like Selenium
- Black Box / Grey Box testing experience in testing product API (Java)
- Knowledge of bug tracking tools such as Bugzilla and/or Jira
- Solid testing experience with SQL and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc.
- Experience on ML and data analytics is a plus.
- Experience in Hadoop, Cassandra, Kafka, Spark is a plus
- Knowledge in deployment of Hadoop, Spark Cluster will be added advantage
- Experience with Jenkins, Teamcity or similar CI systems
- Experience/knowledge in crafting and developing testing infrastructure for Data Analytics Platforms with understanding of Big Data programming models like Map Reduce, Parallel Data Processing will be added advantage
- Knowledge on build systems like ANT/Maven
- Knowledge of Java and Apache/Opens Source Projects
- Experience testing software in both Unix, Linux, and Windows systems
- Good understanding of performance and security aspects of software development
- Experience with SOA, Web Services and SOAP is desirable
- Resource monitoring (Windows & Unix Environment) & and bottleneck analysis skills such as:

- CPU, Memory, Network and IO monitoring and thorough analysis
- Should have experience in monitoring using Perfmon (Windows) and/or Shell scripts (Linux/Solaris/AIX/HP/ other Unix flavors)

- Knowledge of analysing JVM-Heap dump, Java-thread dumps, CPU and memory profiling data
