Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Compliance and Reporting, the Senior Tax Manager, US International Tax will become a member of a global tax department responsible for international tax aspects of corporate income tax compliance, planning, and accounting for income taxes for the United States.

 

The Open Text Tax Department is charged with the responsibility to create value by;

  • Deferring cash or reducing cash taxes
  • Ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance and accounting
  • Manage and balance tax risks

 

 

You Are Great At:

 

  • Manage third party provider and oversee the international tax aspects of the international tax compliance filings including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 8991, 8992, 8993, 1120F,1118, and FinCEN Form 114 as well as related disclosures and filings. This includes coordinating with controllers and other internal departments to gather the necessary information required to prepare the returns.
  • Manage and advise on international elements of U.S. tax return, especially as it relates to implemented tax planning, acquisition integration and dispositions.
  • Review of the ASC 740 (FAS109) tax provision calculation for the US International tax aspects, such as GILTI, SubF, BEAT, etc., including interaction with outside financial statement auditors, support and ensure SOX compliance
  • Managing and coordinating tax projects
  • Research, model and report international tax impacts of transactions, including disclosures.
  • Prepare/review responses to notices received from governmental agencies to resolve any disputed issues. Support income tax examinations, especially the international aspects of the U.S. tax audit.
  • Keep up to date on tax law changes and their organizational impact
  • Ad hoc projects. This may include FATCA issues, tax projections, tax modelling, research, analysis and documentation of tax compliance/planning issues.

 

 

What It Takes:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, CPA designation
  • Minimum of 7 years tax experience
  • Experience in the following technical areas: US international tax areas including, GILTI, SubF, PTEP, FTC, BEAT, etc. ASC 740 and Tax accounting related to various IP issues is a plus
  • Experience in dealing with taxing agencies and outside auditors (both in tax jurisdictions & financial statement auditors)
  • Must be able to multi-task and have the ability to work in a fast past environment. Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straight forward manner. Self-motivation with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • A proactive, can-do, work ethic; a demonstrated strong desire to work hard to identify issues and opportunities
  • Ability to manage relationships with external tax advisors in tax planning and compliance assignments. Ability to work cooperatively with internal finance and accounting services teams. Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints

 

 

Work Location:  This is a remote position and the work arrangement is Virtual, US

 

 

 

This job is expected to pay in the range of $121,000 to $182,000,000 annual salary as well as a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan.  Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
