The Opportunity:


The Technical Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of strategic initiatives identified for viewing and transformation products, specifically focused on our cloud solutions.  The role will manage the overall timeline for the project, manage issues and risks, and communicate project status to project sponsors and upper management. The Technical Program Manager has strong leadership, excellent communication, and “hands-on” program/project management skills, as well as proficiency in motivating and leading others through vision, strategic positioning, and leadership characteristics.


The ideal candidate is a senior software developer interested a hybrid role of managing the projects and the team on the way to a software manager role.


They are an individual contributor with a strong technical development and product management background that collaborates with other corporate leaders including Product, Sales, and Marketing to ensure high performance and to promote the alignment of initiatives toward the achievement of strategic results.  The candidate has experience and understanding of Cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Viewing and Transformation products, implementation of security compliance controls for technical, management, and operational requirements.


The Technical Program Manager is a subject matter expert and provides a single point of contact that will drive from the original concept through the final implementation of appropriate enterprise programs, policies, and procedures to be compliant with key initiatives. The role will be working with the teams developing the Viewing and Transformation cloud products and is, therefore, a highly visible role with significant scope.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


•Leads Scrum processes and activities, for example: triages, scrubbing, sprint planning and standups, reporting, etc.

•Accountable for the successful launch and delivery of new, key, Viewing and Transformation features and functions for the OpenText Cloud. Helps team achieve program/project goals while partnering with multiple Product Managers on overall business objectives

•Helps create, populate, automate, & manage metrics dashboards, identifying and following data-driven business and operational improvement opportunities 

•Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, dependency tracking and status reports to stakeholders and senior leadership

•Provides insightful analyses on the efficiency, quality, and economics of Viewing and Transformation projects based on data, identifying data gaps, requirements validations and working with stakeholders to fill those gaps

•Interfaces with peers in other teams, leaders, including Engineering, Cloud Operations, Product Management, Professional Services, and Customer Support

•Recommends/takes action to direct the analysis of and solution to problems

•Provides visibility to team impediments/risks and helps eliminate them


Experience Required   


•10+ years of IT or Software industry experience for a global, high-tech environment, with at least 5 years in a software development or product management position

•Proven track record of successful development or management of complex, cross-functional, large implementations

•Experience and familiarity with cloud data security (FISMA/FedRAMP compliance) and working with public cloud solutions (AWS, Google, and Azure)


Required Knowledge/Skills  


•Senior Programing Skills – C/C++, Java, etc.

•Deep knowledge of multiple systems, e.g., Linux administration and Systems support

•Multiple program and project management methodologies (Agile. Hybrid, waterfall), BI and collaboration tools (Atlassian, etc.)

•Excellent communication and people skills

•Strong attention to detail and understanding of intricate cross-dependencies

•Effective facilitation skills for participatory decision making

•Strong interpersonal and collaborative problem-solving skills

•Strong business acumen and proficiency in priorities-based planning, schedule management and resource management.

•Flexible and adaptable to time-sensitive situations and work in a high-pressure environment

•Experience interviewing subject matter experts to develop, edit, revise documentation; standard operating procedures, system security plans, policies and procedures.

•Ability to work across multiple silos and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes; ability to address complex situations into actionable plans

•Willingness to learn new technologies as needed, with high self-motivation and critical thinking

•Strong ability to interpret data quickly and communicate to executive/business sponsors

•Expert level experience with JIRA, Confluence and PM Tools

•Accustomed to working in a global environment involving multiple development sites in various time zones.
