The Opportunity:

This role is an opportunity for someone with good critical thinking skills to be coached and mentored to increase their skillset in a very broad area of responsibilities within the AR Governance team. Reporting to the Director, AR Governance, the Business Analyst will assist in ensuring all aspects related to AR reporting and forecasting results are successfully delivered. They will use their experience with AR processes to assist in supporting cross functional projects and other initiatives to improve AR efficacy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, flexible, and able to focus on delivery within specific deadlines


What you will do:

  • Responsible for supporting all levels of AR management and collections team with analysis and reporting, both regular daily, monthly and quarter-end reporting requirements, and ad hoc requests, including the ability to create customized reports as and when needed
  • Responsible for ensuring all required AR Trade customer adjustments (e.g., withholding tax and write off uploads) and AR General Ledger related transactions are executed in compliance with corporate processes and policies and SOX controls, including with other operational areas that are upstream or downstream customers of AR (i.e., Corporate Banking, Treasury, Controllership)
  • Assist with AR month-end financial close procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of all AR related manual journal entries/uploads
  • Assists in drafting Policies, SOP’s, and training material for the AR teams
  • Assist with preparation of DSO forecasting utilizing historic trends on AR and revenue cycles, and preparing, assigning, monitoring, and reporting progress in the achievement of quarterly cash forecast target at the individual collector and consolidated levels
  • Prepare and provide requisite schedules/reports for quarterly reviews/annual audits with Internal stakeholders and external auditors and assist in quarterly reviews/annual audits with external and internal auditors to support Board of Director and financial reporting requirements
  • Responsible for supporting acquisition integrations and other assignments as required to support the overall AR mission statement at OpenText


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 + years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable (credit and collections) preferred, ideally combined with some accounting or financial planning and analysis experience, ideally from a Fortune 500 or high growth firm in the high-tech industry
  • Demonstrated level of understanding in processing/validating accounting journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations; preferred experience would include the relationship to AR cash and cash postings, the Allowance for Doubtful Accounts, Bad Debt write offs, A/R control accounts, deferred revenue, and AR Balance sheet reconciliations and analysis would be considered an asset
  • Exposure to an environment with a high level of B2B transactional volumes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS office skills, specifically MS EXCEL (use of advanced formulas, modeling, etc.), ACCESS, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated success at analytical, reporting, critical thinking and organization skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across functional areas with a learning together mindset with peers and leaders alike
