The Corporate Events Assistant Intern is responsible for providing administrative and support services to ensure effective and efficient operations in the Corporate Events Department.



  • Maintain OpenText World hotline and email accounts. Answer customers, partners and staff questions for events or forward to the correct person to respond.
  • Manage online registration system (CVENT) and assist with creation of registration paths, amending registrations and creating reports.
  • Uploading of virtual event assets to online portals, including session information, images, descriptions, etc.
  • Assist with OpenText World and other subsequent event registrations as required
  • Administrative duties
    • Assisting with power point presentations, updating documents (FAQs, contact list, internal intranet etc.), and online file maintenance
    • Preparation of meeting minutes for various committee meetings
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Shipment packing, commercial invoice documents, tracking and working closely with shipping brokerage contacts to ensure timely delivery
  • Provide administrative support to Senior Events Team Managers



  • Current student in an accredited program in Events Planning or Project Management.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • CVENT registration system experience an asset  
  • HTML knowledge an asset

This job is a full-time 8-month internship/co-op position from January 2023 to August 2023. 


This job required you to work from our Waterloo office 2-3 days per week. OpenText has a Flexible Work Policy in Canada. This requires employees to be located proximate to an OpenText office so that they can come into the office 2-3 days a week.
