The Opportunity:

Open Text has chosen to implement a full suite of Informatica products and databases to act as the data toolset across the enterprise. This includes Power Center, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Oracle ODS, Vertica EDW, Enterprise Data Catalogue, and Axon (Business glossary management). To support this, we have built a central technical function to support and develop these applications as the company grows and continues to drive efficiency.

 

This role is for a director to manage the team who maintains and runs the data tooling across the entire OpenText estate. This includes the full range of Informatica tools including our MDM hub, numerous legacy, and proposed data warehouses. The Run team is responsible for ensuring maximum system availability, resolution of service-impacting issues, management of patches and upgrades to all systems, and access control.

 

 

You Are Great At:

  • Managing the L2 Data Run team across OpenText, including:
    • Informatica Power Center
    • Informatica MDM
    • Informatica EDC
    • Informatica Axon
    • MicroFocus Records Manager (unstructured data store)
    • Oracle Db
    • Vertica EDW
    • Oracle ODS for Sales Compensation
    • Tableau
  • Manage regional leads for L2 support.
  • Focus on continual service improvement.
  • Triage and assign tickets to members of the team.
  • Ensuring that the team is operating using the defined process for issue resolution.
  • Be responsible for the infrastructure underpinning the tooling and work with our partners to ensure that this is operating and stable.
  • Troubleshooting issues and bringing them to a swift conclusion
  • Communication with leadership and the business community
  • Guide and mentor team members in solutions, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
  • Provide information to management about the health of the systems.
  • Create and execute the roadmap of tasks across the estate to maintain.
  • Ensure security framework.
  • Ensure SOX controls and audit readiness.
  • Implement monitoring and automation of processes.
  • Ensuring non-prod systems have up-to-date code and data as needed and in synch with the rest of the enterprise.
  • Code release including Path to Live and Version Control
  • Escalation to the L3 development team
  • Management and Escalation of issues to 3rd party Vendor
  • Ensuring that the data flows are run and the data in systems is complete and up to date.
  • Implement configuration changes.
  • Ensure Change control and approval for all changes.
  • Produce all relevant documentation (e.g., solution designs, mapping specifications, training materials, etc) required to fulfill the role.

 

What It Takes:

  • Excellent Knowledge of Informatica (IPC and IDQ)
  • Experience in managing a team of up to 20 including managers running parts of that team
  • Experience in managing a “Run” operation within a technical team.
  • ITIL qualification (foundation minimum)
  • Understanding and experience of running a “major incident”
  • Understanding of Change, Release, Incident, and Problem Management.
  • Demonstrable experience in ETL within highly complex disparate data sets across multiple technologies
  • A highly organized and structured approach to work
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Have strong communication skills to make presentations both in face-to-face meetings and remotely over the telephone.
  • The ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Have flexibility in working patterns – especially as you need to interact with people located in the Americas and Asia Pacific as well as EMEA.
  • Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 8 years in a run-and-operate role.
