Director, Software Architecture

The Opportunity:


OpenText is seeking a passionate customer-focused individual to serve as Director, Cloud Service Delivery for the Business Network Architecture team. This position will have overall responsibility for leading the architecture, technical strategy, implementation, and consulting functions in our growing cloud integration business. This is a visible and key global leadership role in OpenText with direct customer and business impact, leading a team of Architects across the globe.  The right candidate will delight our sales team as well as customers with innovation, scalable, supportable solutions as well as provide design best practices to push into global PS implementation team.


You are great at:


  • Provide overall guidance and organizational leadership for integration services across a variety of solution sets and capabilities, including Business to Business (B2B), Application to Application (A2A), Internet of Things (IoT), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Custom Applications, and FAX / On Demand Messaging (ODM).
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a keen technical / architectural awareness while solving complex business problems with OpenText solutions.
  • Manage and lead high performing technical organization
  • Partner with Sales for pre- and post-deal management including but not limited to estimations, contract reviews, Statements of Work, and acceptance reviews.
  • Build and maintain C-level customer relationships.
  • Serve as escalation point for BN Professional Services and customers globally
  • Develop and deliver detailed and structured technical strategy plans, including short term and long-term customer (CSD, BN and OpenText) objectives.
  • Partner with the Product Engineering, Product Management and Customer Operations teams to align strategy, and to ensure SLAs are met and quality meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Meet KPI, SLA’s, metrics, and measurements applicable to the Global CSD Organization.
  • Ensure quality and scope of major product releases meet BN Professional Services requirements.
  • Develop opportunities for cross-team effectiveness with PD, PM and Operations and remove organizational barriers for strong teamwork, collaboration, and excellent service delivery.


What it takes:


  • Strong leadership/managerial experience in professional services, cloud managed services and/or consulting business combined with significant service delivery experience
  • Experience implementing OpenText software solutions in the cloud
  • Experience with Software as a Service and/or Managed Services.  Platform as a Service experience a plus, especially with an integration focus
  • Strong technical aptitude required; architectural experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and financial skills; must be metrics-driven
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Strong executive presence and communications skills
  • Strong team player; ability to partner with sales and other cross-functional organizations
  • Bachelors Degree; MBA or Masters Degree a plus
