Financial Analyst

The Opportunity:


The Financial Analyst is a key position within the Financial Planning and Analysis team and will provide primary financial support for key internal business stakeholders, including monthly results reporting & analysis, budgeting/forecasting and business analysis and financial modeling. This particular position will have a strong focus on Commissions expense forecasting and analysis, as well as Revenue reporting and analysis. The position requires an individual with a high degree of autonomy, a broad understanding of Sales Commissions structure and a solid financial acumen. Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize input from multiple sources are a must.


You're Great At:

  • Understanding of key variables behind Commissions expense by Sales region to be able to gather the relevant data, forecast future period expense based on Revenue forecasts and various expense variables, and analyze results at a detailed level.
  • Reporting on revenue results for quarterly CFO/CEO Board reporting and ad hoc requests from the Revenue Operations leaders and their respective Sales teams.
  • Support global operating expense and planning and reporting.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly/quarterly closing/estimates; communicating current results and estimates to functional leaders.
  • Identifying risks & opportunities during each quarter and work with functional leads in mitigating risks and capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Understanding, communicating and explaining variance drivers within the function. 
  • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for understanding and evaluating Commissions expense, License revenue and MCV Bookings by BU and Sales Region.
  • Performing deep dive analysis and collaborating with the Variable Compensation and Accounting teams to understand and analyze Commissions expense and creating financial models to support ongoing forecasts and post-close reviews.
  • Performing ad hoc analysis as requested.


What It Takes:


•    Ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers.

  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Advanced skills and experience in financial modeling and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, and to identify relevant issues in solving business problems. 
  • Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office and business analysis tools and SAP for data management, research, analysis and reporting purposes. Proficiency in Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation, including pivot tables, v-lookup & Macros.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or another related quantitative discipline. Advanced degree desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis or similar role with prior experience in supporting the Commissions expense environment preferred.
  • High tech, Internet or Computer industry experience preferred.
