The Opportunity

We are building an advanced analytics and decision-support team to innovate towards an insights-driven decision-support and continue to uncover insights to better attract, develop, motivate, and retain OpenText’s most important asset - our people.


Reporting to the Senior Director, People Analytics & Organizational Effectiveness, the Lead Analyst, People Analytics partners closely with HR & Business Stakeholders to define clear problem statements and run actionable diagnostic and predictive analyses. The Lead Analyst plays a pivotal role in helping leaders use people data to make strategic business decisions through combining both experiential data (e.g., engagement survey) and operational data to identify insights and opportunities for us to improve the employee experience of our global employee population.



You’re Great At

  • Evaluating, dissecting, and augmenting people data to identify trends and recommend enhancements for core people metrics – attraction, retention, development, people manager effectiveness and business KPIs.
  • Acting as a consultant on projects, bringing HR analytics to help inform courses of action
  • Informing HR program design and actions recommendations by helping to build business cases with quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Being part of a team that is “building” – figuring out how to improve legacy methods through trying out new methods and bringing new approaches to solve problems.
  • Performing proactive diagnostic analysis on key HR measures, trends, and hot spots, and surface meaningful, actionable insights and recommendations to global and regional leaders.
  • Designing interactive and insightful dashboards that cut across the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Enabling the implementation of tools like employee survey vendors or reporting dashboards for unique set of decision-makers and stakeholder user-groups.
  • Developing and delivering advanced data and machine learning models using statistical and analytical techniques/toolsets to solve people related challenges and provide data-driven insights.
  • Maintaining skills and education in People Analytics research, "best practices", technology, and connections with other Analytics teams.
  • Collaborating closely with core team members including the ‘Reporting & Data Governance Manager’, ‘Organizational Effectiveness’ team, and HR IT to execute projects; providing subject matter advisory to achieve results.
  • Acting as business partner on projects and make recommendations with quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Driving impact through the small things including the integration of multiple data sources to ensure effective and efficient delivery of data sets for analysis Develop solutions with the end-user in mind and leverages the power of data science and analytics to achieve results.



What It Takes

  • Degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python (or R), and ETL pipelines
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) highly desirable
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology/software/systems, understanding of HR technology, systems, HR data and reporting and experience with HRIS and reporting/ data visualization
  • You are eager to take initiative and comfortable juggling multiple priorities with time sensitive deadlines
  • You’re a great communicator (verbal, written and visual) who excels at distilling concepts and complex people data into easily digestible stories using MS Office tools such as PowerPoint
  • You easily form relationships and enjoy working with many different stakeholders at all levels of an organization
