Lead Business Intelligence SQL Developer


The Opportunity: 


OpenText is looking for developer with a passion for data to join the Business Intelligence team in their Waterloo office. You will assist in the development of BI solutions using the Microsoft BI stack including SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS and SSRS. Your primary focus will be on developing T-SQL Queries, Stored Procedures and Views, SSAS Cubes, SSIS Packages and SSRS Reports.



What You Are Great At:

  • Development of T-SQL Queries, Stored Procedures and Views
  • Development of MDX and DAX Queries
  • Development of SSIS Packages and SSAS Cubes
  • Development of .NET Code (Visual Basic or C#)
  • Development and execution of test plans
  • Mentor Junior team members to provide technical advice


What it takes to excel:

Must Have

  • Post-secondary university, college or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of T-SQL, SSIS and SSAS development (2012, 2017, 2019)
  • Experience with different reporting like Tableau and Power BI
  • T-SQL development and optimization skills
  • MDX and DAX query development skills
  • Excel Skills
  • Team player with positive attitude
  • Detail conscious, Problem solver & Innovative thinker
  • Good communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal & presentation skills

Nice to Have

  • Working Knowledge developing SSAS Cubes
  • Experience with Sharepoint
  • Familiarity with any of the data models of SAP Simple Finance, SAP BW, SalesForce, FrontRange ITSM, Changepoint, Siebel CRM, OpenAir or Service Now
